Chapter 179

"Why should I? Why should I listen to you?"

Vivian Bennett stubbornly lifted her chin, her eyes filled with defiance.

Liam Sullivan suddenly leaned down and bit her lip hard.

It wasn't a kiss. It was punishment.

He was like an enraged beast, tearing at her softness.

Every ounce of his strength carried destructive intent.

Vivian winced in pain, yet she could clearly sense the fury raging within him.

But what was he so angry about?

Even if she really had something with Zachary Hudson, why should he be so enraged?

She was just a plaything he fancied on a whim.

When he grew tired of her, he could simply discard her.

Vivian hardened her heart and bit back with force.

The taste of blood instantly spread between their lips.

Liam released her, his eyes dark and terrifying.

"Mr. Sullivan, why bother?" Vivian lowered her lashes, a mocking curve forming at the corner of her mouth. "Getting angry over a woman like me isn't worth it."

"Yes, why bother?"

Liam stared at her, a trace of self-mockery flashing in his eyes.

Countless women longed to climb into his bed.

Why was he so fixated on her?

If he suspected her of being unfaithful, he could just discard her.

Why force an explanation? Why demand a guarantee?

It was meaningless.

"Mr. Sullivan, you're never short of women around you." Vivian's voice grew softer. "And I... have never been from your world."

She had held these words back for too long.

These past days felt like an unreal dream.

How could the big boss genuinely pursue her?

She couldn't afford to play these emotional games.

It was time to call it quits.

Now that he misunderstood, it was perfect.

This was the chance to make a clean break.

Liam's gaze swept over her coldly. "You're right."

He abruptly released her and took a step back.

He had returned to being that aloof, untouchable Mr. Sullivan.

As if they had never crossed paths.

"The three-month agreement is terminated." His tone was icy. "We're even from now on."

He turned and walked away without looking back.

He didn't spare her another glance.

Vivian stood frozen, leaning against the railing.

The sting on her lip reminded her this wasn't a dream.

The dream was over now.

Everyone was back in their rightful place.

It ended faster than she expected.

She thought he would at least grow bored after having her.

She never imagined he would lose interest without even touching her.

Was this a breakup?

No, she had been dumped by the big boss.

Maybe it was for the best.

She should have returned to her own track long ago.

Yet her chest felt inexplicably tight.

There was still some disappointment after all.

But for them, this was the best possible ending.
