Chapter 189

A fierce kiss assaulted her.

Vivian Bennett had no time to react.

Her eyes widened as her lips were brutally sealed.

Liam Sullivan’s kiss carried a punishing edge, forcefully prying her mouth open.

Vivian struggled desperately, but her hands were firmly pinned.

She was forced to tilt her head back, enduring his storm-like assault.

Breathing grew increasingly difficult. She was nearly suffocating.

His arms clamped around her like iron vices, leaving no chance for escape.

He was like a starved beast, savagely plundering her very breath.

The temperature inside the car skyrocketed.

Their bodies pressed tightly together, leaving no space between them.

Liam’s hand slipped inside her blouse, caressing her smooth skin.

Vivian stiffened completely.

A wave of humiliation instantly flooded her heart.

Tears silently traced down her cheeks, dripping onto Liam’s face.

The cold sensation jolted him awake.

He released her, panting heavily, his eyes dark with suppressed desire.

“Why are you crying?” His voice was hoarse, edged with impatience.

Vivian glimpsed her disheveled collar, overwhelmed by shame and anger.

She shoved him away forcefully, her voice trembling. “You bastard! How could you do this to me?”

She immediately slapped him across the face.

The sharp crack of the slap echoed starkly inside the car.

Liam’s expression darkened instantly.

No woman had ever dared to hit him before.

He admitted he had lost control, almost taking her right there in the car.

But her repeated rejections had utterly enraged him.

With no outlet for his fury, he could only slam his fist violently into the car seat.

Vivian hadn’t expected herself to strike him either.

But she felt no regret.

He had started it by bullying her.

Seeing Liam’s ominous expression, fear prickled her heart.

Terrified he might do something even more reckless, she hurriedly pushed at the car door.

This time, Liam did not stop her.

Vivian fled into the building as if escaping a predator.

Liam watched her panicked retreat, his gaze inscrutable.

That night, Vivian tossed and turned, unable to sleep.

She had thought everything was settled after the agreement was terminated.

She never expected Liam to suddenly appear and force a kiss on her.

What did he actually want?

She barely slept a wink all night, only managing to doze off as dawn broke.

The doorbell suddenly rang.

Vivian answered the door with her hair a mess.

Sophia Miller stood outside, looking surprised.

“Still not awake?”

“I hardly slept last night.” Vivian rubbed her temples.

A knowing smile played on Sophia’s lips. “Out too late with Zachary?”

Vivian blushed instantly.

“Don’t talk nonsense. Zachary Hudson and I aren’t like that.”

“Then why did he rescue you? And ask you out alone?” Sophia pressed.
