Chapter 201
Vivian Bennett forced a stiff smile.
She mustered the courage to utter two words. "Boss Liam."
Liam Sullivan's gaze swept over her indifferently.
He did not respond.
The air instantly grew still.
Vivian felt her cheeks burn.
The surrounding stares made her extremely uncomfortable.
She felt like a ridiculous clown desperately trying to please her superior.
Liam's expression was inscrutable.
No one could guess what he was thinking.
Public Relations Manager Thomas Carter and Marketing Manager Brian Lowell took their seats.
They joined Liam for the meal.
Their presence conveniently blocked his sharp gaze.
Vivian secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
She lowered her head and quickly ate the food in her bowl.
She only wanted to escape this suffocating place as soon as possible.
Liam watched her hurried retreating figure.
A frosty chill settled over his handsome features.
His deep, dark eyes grew even more unfathomable.
Back in the resort suite, Vivian completely lost interest in going out.
Her planned relaxing trip was utterly ruined.
Liam's appearance had disrupted everything.
Her thoughts became even more tangled and chaotic.
Emily Davis invited her to go to the hot springs together.
She politely declined, citing physical discomfort.
Right now, she just wanted to be alone with her thoughts.
Emily went to the hot springs area by herself.
Vivian stepped into the bathroom and took a hot shower.
She lay down on the soft bed.
She closed her eyes and forced herself to sleep.
Early the next morning, Vivian was awakened by rustling sounds.
Emily was packing her luggage by the bed.
"You're awake, Vivian? Do you want to go out and play together today?"
Vivian rubbed her eyes. "Where are you going?"
"Made plans with a few colleagues to go hiking," Emily said enthusiastically.
Vivian immediately shook her head. "I won't go."
Recent consecutive overtime shifts had left her exhausted.
She truly had no energy left for hiking.
Emily was considerate and did not press further.
"Then rest well. We'll head out first."
Vivian saw her colleagues off with a sense of guilt.
She watched the shuttle bus gradually disappear into the distance.
She went to the restaurant alone and had breakfast.
The hotel was eerily quiet.
Most colleagues had gone out to enjoy themselves.
Vivian guessed Liam was probably among them.
They wouldn't run into each other again.
She picked up her camera and left the hotel.
She walked towards that grove of pink peach blossoms.
