Chapter 27
Vivian Bennett clenched her fists.
She prepared to force herself to stand and offer a toast to Zachary Hudson.
But unexpectedly, Zachary stood up first.
Under everyone's astonished gaze, he strode toward her with long steps.
"How could I let the beauty make the first move?"
His thin lips curved into a wicked smile.
His phoenix eyes glinted with dangerous light.
The smile seemed captivating, but was actually icy cold.
Vivian's spine stiffened.
Her expression froze instantly.
She couldn't even force a fake smile.
Did... did he recognize her?
While all the women present were jealous that Vivian had caught Zachary's attention, he stopped right in front of her.
His gaze was playful, filled with the interest of a hunter.
He clinked his glass with hers.
Anyone else would have been overjoyed.
But Vivian turned deathly pale, as if facing a great enemy.
After clinking glasses, Zachary suddenly leaned in close.
His scorching breath brushed her ear. "We meet again?"
Vivian's mind exploded.
All the blood in her body froze.
He remembered!
She was screaming internally, but had to maintain a professional smile on her face.
Today she represented the Sullivan Group's PR department. She absolutely could not lose her composure.
Zachary examined her smile, which was uglier than a cry, up close.
He frowned displeased.
His usually irresistible charm repeatedly failed with this woman.
Last time, she rejected him during their blind date.
This time, she looked at him as if she'd seen a ghost.
Zachary straightened up coldly and returned to his seat.
The usual flirtatious smile on his lips completely disappeared.
His supposedly perfect charm was utterly useless in front of Vivian.
This ungrateful woman dared to ignore him again and again?
Zachary felt publicly challenged by Vivian once more.
This feeling of losing control made him extremely unhappy.
Naturally, this meal was impossible to continue.
Zachary stood up abruptly and left without looking back.
The Hudson Group staff hurried after him.
Thomas Carter and the PR department beauties tried to salvage the situation.
But they didn't even get a glance from Zachary.
In the private dining room, Hannah Green immediately seized the opportunity to attack.
"Vivian Bennett, who do you think you are?" she scolded sharply, her face ugly. "How dare you make Young Master Hudson come toast you personally?"
Fiona Clark nearby was also full of jealousy.
She had had a crush on Zachary for a long time.
Today she finally had a chance to get close to him, but he completely ignored her.
Instead, this insignificant Vivian stole the spotlight.
She immediately chimed in. "Exactly! She has no manners at all! She made Young Master Hudson so angry he left! All our efforts are wasted now!"
Everyone else in the PR department also shot blaming looks at Vivian.
