Chapter 272
Frank Evans gave his men a meaningful look.
"Bring two more bottles."
"Miss Bennett must enjoy herself today."
Vivian Bennett quickly intervened.
"That won't be necessary, Mr. Evans."
"Have you forgotten? I leave after finishing this bottle."
Frank pretended to suddenly remember.
"Oh right, that was the deal."
"But I also recall."
"If you can't walk out."
"You'll have to stay and keep drinking with me."
Vivian turned her gaze away.
She couldn't bear to look at his disgusting face.
She responded calmly.
"Of course."
She had never met a more repulsive man.
Leaning over, she picked up the second bottle.
She closed her eyes and took a deep breath.
Tilting her head back, she began chugging.
The bottle emptied quickly.
The last mouthful caught in her throat.
She couldn't swallow it.
She held the liquor in her mouth quietly.
Gathering her resolve.
She forced it down.
If she spat this out.
All her previous drinking would be wasted.
Even if it made her eyes water.
She had to swallow it.
Setting down the bottle.
She didn't dare speak.
Afraid she would vomit if she opened her mouth.
Turning toward the door.
She took steps with her remaining willpower.
After just two steps, her legs weakened and dizziness hit.
She collapsed to the floor.
Vivian bowed her head, gasping for air.
Struggling to stay conscious.
She tried to stand.
But couldn't summon any strength.
In her panic.
Someone suddenly yanked her up.
Frank half-dragged, half-carried her to the couch.
His men tactfully withdrew.
Vivian's heart raced with fear.
Before he could make a move.
She spoke urgently.
"Perhaps you don't know, Mr. Evans."
"I'm Liam Sullivan's woman."
Frank laughed mockingly.
"Using him to scare me? You think I'm afraid?"
Vivian clung to her last shred of rationality.
She managed a weak smile.
"Someone as powerful as you."
"Wouldn't fear anyone."
"But causing trouble over a woman."
"Really isn't necessary."
Frank burst into loud laughter.
As if hearing something hilarious.
"You're right."
"Just a woman."
"Really not necessary."
His tone shifted.
He narrowed his eyes.
"But—"
"How come I've never heard."
"About you being with Liam Sullivan?"
He smirked cunningly.
"Could it be he already dumped you?"
"Are you just leftovers now?"
Vivian froze.
Through her dizziness.
She suddenly realized her mistake.
