Chapter 275

Liam Sullivan finally resolved the situation with Frank Evans by making some deliberate concessions.

He wrapped his arm around Vivian Bennett as they left the room, noticing her burning hot cheek.

His gaze darkened as he leaned close to her ear. "What's wrong?"

Vivian's eyes were unfocused, her vision blurry.

She mumbled incoherently. "Hot... uncomfortable..."

Her body felt limp and boneless, melting against him.

Liam frowned deeply, immediately recognizing she had been drugged.

Without hesitation, he scooped her into his arms and quickly left.

Vivian regained a sliver of consciousness in the backseat of Liam's car.

The vehicle moved fast, streetlights outside blurring into continuous streams of light.

Her entire body burned with unbearable heat, soft moans escaping her lips.

"Liam... phone... call my cousin..." Her voice was weak but urgent. "Tell her I'm fine..."

Liam glanced at her through the rearview mirror.

The usually sharp-tongued woman was now softened by alcohol and drugs.

She looked disheveled, yet strangely evoked protectiveness.

He pulled the car over.

Leaning back, he found her phone and sent a quick text to her cousin Grace Harper.

To avoid lengthy explanations, he powered off the phone after sending.

As he restarted the car, Vivian stirred restlessly in the backseat.

"Dizzy... thirsty... want water... want sleep..." Her voice faded into unconscious murmurs.

Her soft, pleading tone stirred something deep within Liam.

He pressed the accelerator, speeding toward the nearest hotel.

At the front desk, he ignored the curious stares and carried the limp Vivian in his arms.

Her legs wobbled uselessly, unable to support her.

In the elevator, Vivian suddenly opened her eyes and smiled up at him.

"Guess what..." Her breath felt warm. "Am I seducing you?"

Liam looked down at her, a faint smile touching his lips.

"Covered in alcohol, looking like a drunken mess," his voice turned husky. "How exactly are you seducing anyone?"

Vivian giggled and nestled back against his chest.

Inside the room, she suddenly struggled. "Put me down... feel sick..."

Liam carried her into the bathroom. The moment he set her down, she pushed him away. "Out... get out..."

She refused to let anyone see her in such a state.

Before Liam closed the door, he heard her turn the faucet to full blast.

The sound of rushing water masked her faint, suppressed retching.

His chest tightened inexplicably.

Even now, she stubbornly clung to her dignity.

He waited on the sofa.

Time ticked by with only the continuous sound of water from the bathroom.

She never emerged.

Liam grew increasingly restless and finally stood up, striding to the bathroom door.

"Vivian?" He knocked. "Are you done?"
