Chapter 291
The lunch was sent by Liam Sullivan.
After finishing her meal, Vivian Bennett hesitated for a moment before dialing Liam's number.
Seeing her name flash on his screen, Liam's stern features instantly softened.
His deep, magnetic voice came through the receiver. "Awake?"
Vivian's ears grew warm. She gave a soft "Mm-hmm."
"Eat before you go back. There are clothes prepared for you in the walk-in closet." His tone was gentle.
His reminder made her recall the dress he had torn last night.
She couldn't help scolding him. "Liam Sullivan, you're such a brute!"
He chuckled lowly. "Where does it hurt? Should I massage it for you tonight?"
Her cheeks flushed instantly. "Pervert! I'm not talking to you anymore!"
Just as she was about to hang up, she heard him say, "Since you've slept all day, any plans for tonight?"
Vivian paused.
She really hadn't thought about what to do tonight.
While she hesitated, he spoke again. "Dinner together? Maybe catch a movie?"
Her heart skipped a beat.
But considering they had just started dating, she believed they should take things slow.
She hesitated. "Dinner is fine. Let's save the movie for another time."
Liam understood her concerns and accepted easily. "Alright. I'll pick you up after work."
After ending the call, Vivian felt too embarrassed to return to her apartment immediately. She decided to take a shower first.
Entering the walk-in closet, she froze when she opened the wardrobe.
Half the wardrobe was filled with women's clothing. Even the lingerie was meticulously prepared.
Seeing everything was exactly her size, her ears tinged pink.
She selected a light-colored suit to change into before finally returning to her own apartment next door.
As soon as she entered, she spotted the gift box Liam had sent over with his driver last night.
Unwrapping it, she gasped.
The box was filled with dazzling jewelry.
Each piece was incredibly valuable.
She was supposed to thank him for his help last night. Why was she receiving such expensive gifts instead?
What was this man thinking?
The doorbell suddenly rang.
Vivian's heart jumped.
Who could it be at this hour?
An inexplicable sense of unease washed over her.
Seeing Brandon White's face through the peephole made her breath catch.
She had just opened the door when a slap struck her face.
Vivian was caught completely off guard.
As a second slap was about to land, she grabbed his wrist sharply. "Brandon White! How dare you hit me?"
He shook her off violently. "I'm your brother! What's wrong with asking you for some money? You're dating a rich guy now, yet you're still so stingy!"
"Get out! Who's dating a rich guy? I have nothing to do with Zachary Hudson anymore!" Vivian trembled with anger.
Brandon didn't believe her. He forced his way inside.
"Get out! You're not welcome here!"
Vivian tried to block him.
Brandon's eyes immediately locked onto the velvet boxes on the coffee table.
When he opened one, his eyes widened greedily.
"Sis, Mr. Hudson is really generous to you. How much is all this jewelry worth?"
Vivian's face paled instantly. "That's not—"
