Liam Sullivan withdrew his gaze, his expression returning to its usual cold severity.

It was as if that brief moment of eye contact had never happened.

He turned and stepped into his private elevator.

Everyone's tense nerves finally relaxed.

Manager Lily Evans immediately confronted her. "Vivian Bennett, what was that about?"

How dare she space out when the big boss was speaking.

Vivian tried to explain. "Manager, I—"

Lily cut her off sharply. "Don't think you can slack off just because your brother-in-law got promoted! In the PR department, it doesn't matter who brought you here. Perform poorly, and you're out!"

Vivian bit her lip in frustration.

She had really lost her mind just now.

How could she think the big boss looked familiar?

No one would believe that if she said it out loud.

Lily walked a few steps before turning back to snap. "Keep up!"

She hadn't originally wanted Vivian involved in the reception.

But she changed her mind after noticing the boss seemed to pay her some attention.

Vivian quickly lowered her head and followed.

They took another elevator upstairs.

They saw the company president, Daniel Lopez, leading the executives as they bowed and scraped around Liam Sullivan.

Her brother-in-law, Jason Harper, was among them.

"Boss, right this way!"

Daniel bent at the waist to guide the way, his posture humble.

Vivian followed quietly behind Lily.

She suddenly felt an intense gaze land on her.

But when she looked up, she saw nothing.

President Wang was smiling obsequiously while explaining the company's situation.

Liam looked straight ahead, his face expressionless.

Someone pushed her from behind.

Vivian gasped as she stumbled forward.

She fell heavily to the ground, wincing in pain.

Gasps echoed around her.

A pair of polished leather shoes appeared in her line of sight.

Vivian looked up dazedly.

Her eyes traveled up the crisp suit trousers—

And crashed into a pair of deep, intense eyes.

Sharp, cold, and locked firmly on her.

Vivian's heart skipped a beat.

That sense of familiarity washed over her again.

Where had she seen these eyes before?

President Wang hurriedly apologized. "My apologies, President Sullivan! This was an accident!"

Liam ignored him, his gaze still fixed on Vivian.

She felt her scalp prickle under his stare.

"Which department are you from? Get out of—" President Wang began to scold.

But he stopped when Liam suddenly bent down and offered Vivian a hand up.

The entire room was stunned.

Vivian was frozen in shock.

President Wang stood speechless.

Rumors said the big boss avoided women. Yet he personally helped someone up?

Liam studied her for a moment before issuing a cold command. "You are dismissed."

His tone brooked no argument.

Vivian looked toward Lily.

After receiving a nod, she acknowledged the order.

She breathed a sigh of relief as she watched Liam lead the entourage away.

Back in the PR department, colleagues were excitedly discussing the event.

"Finally saw the big boss in person!"

"So handsome. I almost got a nosebleed!"

"I'd be his mistress in a heartbeat!"

Jiang Meiqi suddenly turned the topic toward Vivian. "Why did the boss single you out earlier?"

Vivian replied calmly. "I don't know."

Jiang Meiqi said jealously, "Maybe he fancies you?"

A colleague chimed in. "Vivian is so pretty. It wouldn't be strange if he did."

Jiang Meiqi stamped her foot in anger.

Ever since Vivian joined the PR department, she had lost her title as the top beauty.

Now Vivian had caught the big boss's attention. She felt even more resentful.

Seeing Manager Lily return, Jiang Meiqi immediately tattled. "Manager, Vivian has only been here a few days and is already trying to seduce the boss!"

Manager Lily said coldly, "If you had the ability, you could be restless too!"

Jiang Meiqi was taken aback. "Manager..."

Manager Lily warned, "Do your job. Stop stirring up trouble."

Jiang Meiqi gritted her teeth in frustration.

Manager Lily walked over to Vivian. "President Wang is hosting a welcome dinner for the boss tonight. He specifically requested your attendance."

Vivian shook her head in refusal. "Manager, I have a blind date tonight..."

Manager Lily's face hardened. "Vivian Bennett, get your priorities straight! This is a great opportunity for the leadership to promote you!"

She emphasized sternly, "Make sure you dress beautifully tonight!"
