Chapter 304
Vivian Bennett took a deep breath and slowly turned around.
She collided abruptly with a warm, solid chest.
Startled, she looked up and met Liam Sullivan's intense gaze.
His hands gripped her arms, holding her firmly in place.
She stared into his eyes, seeing her own flushed reflection.
A gentle breeze rustled the leaves.
Crimson maple leaves swirled down, blanketing the ground like a red carpet.
Distracted by the distant beauty of falling leaves, she lost focus.
Her peripheral vision caught his handsome face so close.
The sudden warmth on her lips made her mind go blank.
Liam's gaze remained locked on her.
Vivian unconsciously licked her lips.
Fireworks exploded in her mind.
She felt utterly foolish. Was it too late to play dead?
Liam narrowed his eyes, a seductive smile curling his lips.
He wrapped his arm around her waist, pulling her closer.
He deepened the kiss.
His tall frame enveloped her petite form.
One hand tangled in her hair, cradling the back of her head.
Vivian leaned back slightly, accepting his tender, lingering kiss.
Her breathing grew rapid.
Scarlet leaves danced around them as emotions swirled.
Dizzied by passion, she wrapped her arms around his waist.
She responded awkwardly to his fervent kiss.
After what felt like an eternity, Liam reluctantly released her.
She was left breathless.
"Your technique needs improvement," he teased.
Vivian cursed him silently.
If he was so skilled, why did he always force kisses?
She broke free from his embrace and turned away.
She pretended to be angry, hiding her inner turmoil.
What must he think of her? Did she seem too forward?
Liam turned her back to face him.
He looked at her with amusement. "Don't be angry. I'm not complaining."
His words only fueled her irritation.
"Of course. I can't compete with your vast experience," she retorted, avoiding his gaze.
If she had as many practice partners, she wouldn't be so inexperienced either!
"I swear I'm innocent," Liam said seriously. "I told you before. You're my first."
Vivian didn't believe him.
"I was just practicing with you. Don't get the wrong idea," she said, feigning calm.
She prayed he wouldn't misunderstand.
She wanted to shake herself. How could she be swayed by his looks?
"Vivian Bennett, you're asking for trouble!" Liam gritted his teeth.
Vivian burst out laughing.
She loved seeing him so flustered. It was the only time she held the upper hand.
She stepped closer and wrapped her arms around his neck.
Rising on her toes, she met his icy stare with sparkling eyes.
A bold, unrestrained smile played on her lips.
Liam looked at her, both annoyed and amused.
He was utterly helpless.
