Chapter 32

Ryan restarted the car.

He glanced back at her with surprise.

"The weather forecast said it's cooling down today. Only nineteen degrees. How could you be hot?"

Vivian Bennett remained silent.

The luxury car slowly merged into traffic.

Ryan learned from his earlier mistake.

He did not dare to get distracted again.

He focused on gripping the steering wheel.

His eyes remained fixed on the road ahead.

Vivian felt Liam Sullivan subtly moving closer.

His presence faintly surrounded her.

She wanted to tell him to move away several times.

His proximity made her extremely uncomfortable.

But the words died on her lips each time.

Liam suddenly leaned in closer.

His husky voice whispered near her ear. "Your heart is beating very fast."

His warm breath brushed against her neck.

A tingling sensation instantly spread through her.

Damn it!

Could he please move away?

Vivian forced a stiff smile. "Maybe... I'm still shaken from the scare earlier."

Liam narrowed his deep, dark eyes. "Earlier?"

She wished she could bite her tongue off.

That excuse was terribly weak.

It had been over half an hour since the accident.

Even with the slowest reflexes, her reaction was delayed.

She desperately tried to calm her racing heart.

She nodded bravely. "Yes."

Liam gazed at her with an intense look. "Why is your face red then?"

"..."

Asshole. Did he have to expose her like this?

"It's hot." Vivian swallowed, her mind in turmoil.

As soon as she spoke, Liam's hand suddenly rested on her thigh.

Vivian's heart jumped.

She instinctively pressed her legs together.

What did he want to do?

Was he going to... right here in the car?

"Mr. Sullivan?"

Vivian licked her dry lips, finally speaking up.

She couldn't just let him take advantage of her.

"What is it?" Liam's deep eyes locked directly onto hers.

Vivian felt like she was about to lose it.

He actually asked what was wrong?

His hand was on her leg, and he asked what was wrong?

Vivian mustered her courage to remind him. "Your hand..."

The shifting light from outside fell on his handsome profile.

His expression was unreadable.

"It's fine." Liam's voice was low and magnetic.

Vivian's entire face froze.

He was fine? But she wasn't!

Though he only placed his hand on her leg without moving further, it was already too much for her.

The heat from his palm felt scorching.

Vivian felt like her whole body was about to ignite.

Her cheeks flushed uncontrollably.

Her breathing became uneven.

Liam remained sitting upright.

His thin lips were pressed together.

He looked every bit the proper gentleman.

Was it appropriate for him to tease her like this in the car?

Vivian had reached her limit.

Blushing, she tried to push his hand away.

In the next second, her hand was caught firmly in his grasp.

Vivian's heart raced completely out of control.
