Chapter 348

Liam Sullivan opened the food containers one by one.

The aroma of the meal quickly filled the dining room.

He placed a bowl of rice in front of Vivian Bennett.

Vivian quietly picked up her fork and knife.

Her phone rang abruptly.

Liam glanced at the caller ID and frowned slightly.

He stood up and walked toward the living room.

"What is it?"

Ryan Johnson reported Chloe Winston's injuries.

Liam's voice was detached. "Keep her under observation at the hospital. Bill everything to me."

Ryan hesitated. "Miss Winston wishes to see you."

"No."

A woman's voice suddenly came through the phone.

"Liam Sullivan! Are you having your assistant brush me off?"

Chloe had snatched the phone. Her tone was agitated.

Liam's voice turned cold. "My apologies."

Silence fell on the other end.

He continued. "The apology has been given. The medical bills are covered. Please focus on your recovery, Miss Winston."

Chloe was furious. "What kind of attitude is this!"

"I prefer to avoid unnecessary misunderstandings."

Liam instructed Ryan. "Escort Miss Winston home."

The call ended decisively.

Chloe stared at her phone in disbelief.

He was guarding against her as if she were some kind of threat?

She stomped her foot in frustration.

Ryan stood nearby. "Miss Winston, this way."

"Argh!" Chloe grabbed her hair in exasperation.

She had never met a man so infuriating!

Back in the dining room.

Liam returned just as Vivian was finishing her meal.

She looked up and asked. "Who was on the phone?"

Liam chuckled softly. "Checking up on me already?"

Vivian's cheeks flushed instantly.

She defended herself quietly. "I was just asking."

Liam ruffled her long hair. "I'm taking you on a trip tomorrow."

Vivian was stunned.

He was so busy. How did he have time for travel?

The airline tickets were delivered by his assistant that afternoon.

They arrived in Country H at ten that night.

The oceanview hotel suite had an excellent view.

Vivian stood before the floor-to-ceiling window, gazing at the nightscape.

This city was known as the "Pearl of the Ocean."

Liam embraced her from behind.

His warm chest pressed against her back.
