Chapter 368
Liam Sullivan watched Vivian Bennett's carefree smile.
Rage instantly surged within his chest.
This woman had nearly been disfigured, yet she could still laugh.
He wanted to strangle her.
His hands clenched into fists.
He turned to find the doctor.
The doctor said her right wrist was bitten by the dog, requiring six stitches. The rest were scratches.
Fortunately, her winter clothes were thick.
If it had been summer, the consequences would have been unthinkable.
He couldn't imagine how his delicate and soft wife found the strength to fight a mad dog.
If she had been too scared to fight back...
If she hadn't picked up that flowerpot and hit the dog's head...
A wave of fear washed over him, leaving his entire body cold.
He stood still, glaring coldly at Vivian.
His pupils contracted tightly.
His lips were pressed into a thin line.
After a long silence, he finally spoke through gritted teeth. "Vivian Bennett, you're something else."
His voice was filled with fury.
Vivian trembled in fear.
She extended her uninjured hand, pitifully tugging at the hem of his shirt.
Liam's face was dark and stormy.
He ruthlessly pushed her hand away.
Vivian knew he was truly angry.
She pouted in grievance.
Her eyes darted around.
She whispered in a coaxing tone, "Liam, it hurts so much."
Liam immediately grew tense.
But seeing her cunning expression, he said angrily, "Vivian Bennett, I hope it hurts you to death."
"Otherwise, don't expect me to forgive you."
Vivian's nose stung, and she began to cry.
"Liam, I thought I was going to die back then."
"But then I thought of you."
"I couldn't bear to leave you."
"So I fought with it desperately..."
"I worked so hard to survive."
"And you treat me like this..."
Remembering that heart-stopping scene, she still felt lingering fear.
If she hadn't found that flowerpot, she might have been killed by that black dog resembling a Tibetan Mastiff.
Listening to her sobbing account, Liam's heart wrenched painfully.
He secured her wrist receiving the IV drip.
He lifted the blanket.
He delivered several hard slaps to her bottom.
His voice was stern and icy. "Tell me, what did you promise me when we returned to the family estate?"
Vivian was shocked by his actions.
Recalling her promise that night, she knew she was in the wrong.
She bit her lip and remained silent.
Seeing her stubbornness, Liam slapped her again, even harder.
The pain and grievance overwhelmed Vivian.
Her parents had never spanked her like this since she was a child.
She immediately burst into loud sobs.
