Chapter 45

Cousin Grace's question made Vivian Bennett's heart skip a beat.

Liam Sullivan's face flashed through her mind.

She immediately shook her head in denial.

How could that be possible?

He was the lofty CEO, and she was just an ordinary employee.

Marriage? Being his woman?

Those words sounded like a game.

He was never short of beautiful women around him. How could he genuinely like her?

It was just a passing whim.

He would let her go once he grew tired of her.

Boyfriend?

Sugar daddy was more like it.

But she hadn't taken any money from him either.

When it came down to it, he was just her boss.

Grace Harper studied her expression carefully. "Really, there's no one?"

Vivian answered firmly. "No."

Grace sighed softly. "Vivian, you're all alone in Seattle. It would be good to have a boyfriend to take care of you."

Vivian smiled. "Cousin, don't worry about me. I'll definitely tell you if I get a boyfriend."

Grace held her hand tightly. "You have to let me vet him. Don't end up with the wrong person like I did."

She sincerely wished for her cousin's happiness.

Her parents weren't around, and struggling alone was too hard.

Meeting a scumbag would only make things worse.

Vivian nodded. "Okay."

Her phone suddenly rang.

Vivian answered it without thinking.

Liam Sullivan's deep, magnetic voice came through. "It's me."

Her heart stopped.

The big boss was actually calling her.

She needed to save his number next time to avoid being startled.

"Boss Liam, is there something you need?" She lowered her voice, glancing at her cousin.

"Open the door." His tone was displeased.

Her distant attitude made him frown.

"What?" She didn't understand.

"I'm at your door." His voice was steady.

Vivian froze instantly.

Liam Sullivan was right outside?

"What are you here for?" She turned away and whispered.

"Your bag was left in my car." He replied casually.

Vivian finally remembered she had forgotten her bag when she fled.

It was all his fault for forcing that kiss on her.

He had scared her out of her wits.

"Just leave it by the door. Thank you." She said politely.

Her cousin was home. It wasn't convenient to open the door.
