Chapter 535
Vivian Bennett's cheeks flushed slightly.
The address "Mrs. Sullivan" made her both shy and secretly hopeful.
She was looking forward to the day it would be official.
"Rose, could you please take care of this?" She handed over a list. "These ingredients are for dinner tonight."
Liam Sullivan was coming home for dinner.
She had decided to cook herself.
Even with servants hired, some flavors could only be achieved by one's own hands to truly feel like home.
She wanted Liam to feel that this wasn't just a house.
It was a home.
A place with warm lights and comforting meals.
A true haven.
Rose took the list, her eyes suddenly reddening.
"Yes, yes... The young master will be so happy to know you're cooking." Her voice trembled slightly. "He rarely ate at home before. Only since you arrived has he come back for every meal. From now on... this place will feel even more like a home."
Vivian's heart softened.
Rose had watched Liam grow up.
She was almost like family to him.
Liam had experienced little familial warmth since childhood.
Rose's care for him was especially precious.
"You've taken such good care of him all these years," Vivian said softly.
Rose smoothed her graying hair, a relieved smile on her face. "I'm getting old. I should have retired long ago. The only thing I couldn't let go of was the young master. Now that you're here, I can leave with peace of mind."
Vivian was taken aback. "You're leaving?"
Liam already had so few relatives left.
Isabella Sullivan's whereabouts were unknown.
Patriarch Sullivan's health was declining...
If Rose left too, he would truly be alone in this world.
Her heart clenched suddenly.
She tightened her fingers secretly.
Thankfully, he still had her.
"I'll leave after your wedding," Rose said, taking Vivian's hand. Her gaze was earnest. "Mrs. Sullivan, you are the person he needs most. No matter what happens, please... never leave him."
Her tone was as solemn as entrusting a lifetime.
Though Vivian felt the words were too heavy, she nodded seriously. "I promise."
Leaving the villa, she took a car to the booked hotel.
On the way, her cousin Grace Harper called.
Vivian casually mentioned the wedding.
Grace congratulated her repeatedly, her voice full of warmth.
Coincidentally, Grace was nearby.
Vivian asked the driver to take a detour to pick her up.
Having an extra person to consult about the wedding venue was always helpful.
The hotel was the city's only six-star establishment.
It was grand and imposing.
The car had just stopped when the hotel manager emerged with a group of executives.
They bowed in unison. "Welcome, Ms. Bennett! We await your guidance!"
The fanfare was like welcoming a corporate leader.
Vivian was stunned.
Grace also whispered in surprise, "Vivian, why are they treating you... like you're the boss?"
The manager smiled broadly. "Ms. Bennett, you are the boss. Mr. Sullivan acquired all shares of this hotel last week. You are indeed the owner now."
Vivian was completely speechless.
Weren't they... just booking a week of banquets?
