Chapter 607

"You don't need to think I've lost my mind from the shock. I'm clearer about many things than anyone else. Whether it was a conspiracy or karma, the tragedy has already happened. Since I've chosen to live on, I don't want the tragedy to keep spreading. This wasn't something he wanted either. We were both set up. Rather than two people clinging to the pain, it's better for me to seal away these memories alone. That way, perhaps we can both find our own happiness."

Sophia Miller and Oliver Winston watched her genuine outpouring of emotion, her words logical and clear, not trapped in a spiral of despair. They both felt a wave of relief.

Perhaps because Vivian Bennett had endured hardships since childhood, her resilience was ingrained. She saw things more clearly than most.

The next day, by tracking various records under Luna Clark's name, they finally found Liam Sullivan, unconscious, in a remote villa registered to her.

Thankfully, he had only been injected with a sedative. There were no physical injuries on him.

The villa was already empty, deserted. Luna Clark had vanished without a trace.

When Liam Sullivan woke up, he seemed lost, his spirit broken, as if trapped by something he couldn't comprehend.

"Liam, are you okay?" Oliver Winston asked, watching his friend's strange demeanor with a growing sense of unease.

"Where's Luna Clark?" Liam's first words were about that woman, his expression strained, descending into confusion.

Oliver was taken aback. "Liam, I thought your first question would be about Vivian Bennett?"

His tone carried a hint of accusation and anger, which jolted Liam. The confusion in his eyes cleared momentarily, replaced by a flicker of panic.

"What about Vivian? Right, I need to go to the engagement ceremony. Vivian is waiting for me." He struggled to sit up, his mind muddled from days of forced sleep.

Seeing him finally show some urgency, Oliver's dissatisfaction faded slightly. "The engagement ceremony is long over. You were ambushed, unconscious for days. You stood up your own fiancée. You should be begging Vivian for forgiveness."

Following Vivian's request, Oliver only told Liam about the events up to the wedding delay and Isabella Sullivan's appearance.

He told him Vivian had ultimately canceled the ceremony and was now upset and ill, staying in the hospital.

Liam rubbed his throbbing temples, sitting up in bed, looking weary. "I need to go to the hospital to apologize to her. I thought I could make it back. I didn't expect something like this to happen."

He had believed his skills were enough to handle those few men. He thought if he could just figure out the sudden appearance of Luna Clark, he could rush back.

After all, such a fleeting opportunity might not come again. So he chose to pursue it, to unravel the long-standing knot in his heart.

He just never imagined the outcome would be so unbelievable.

Now, even he was bewildered. The mark he had personally tattooed—he couldn't be mistaken. Luna Clark was truly alive. How could Luna Clark be alive? How was this possible?

After accepting this fact, he felt more disoriented than joyful.

Oliver looked at him with complex emotions. He had promised Vivian not to speak of those things. But he hoped Liam would show more concern for Vivian now. After all, the trauma in Vivian's heart was immense, requiring a great deal of love to heal.

But he couldn't directly remind him. He could only say, "Vivian loves you deeply. She's suffered a lot for you. Liam, I hope you'll go back this time and sincerely apologize, beg for her forgiveness. Whatever she asks of you, agree unconditionally. Do everything you can to make her happy."

Liam looked at him, puzzled. It was rare to see Oliver so solemn.

"Is Vivian very angry with me? I understand. Disappearing suddenly at the engagement party, leaving her alone to face it all... she must be deeply hurt. I will do everything to make it up to her. Vivian is a reasonable person."

Oliver sighed. If only it were that simple.
