Chapter 639
Liam Sullivan wrapped his arms around her waist from behind.
The atmosphere tonight was unusually harmonious, a perfect opportunity for intimacy.
"Darling, I want you."
He whispered in her ear, his hand slipping under the hem of her nightgown, roaming restlessly.
Vivian Bennett trembled.
She immediately thought that a good wife shouldn't refuse her husband's advances.
If she couldn't satisfy him completely, he might truly not let her leave.
But she was terrified of getting pregnant.
The mere thought of possibly conceiving again made her shiver uncontrollably.
She turned over, biting her lower lip, and looked at him seriously. "Do you have any birth control pills?"
Liam's eyes darkened. "No."
"What about... condoms?" Her voice grew even softer.
Liam's arms loosened around her.
He turned his back to her coldly. "If you don't want to, there's no need for excuses. I understand what you mean."
Vivian's heart tightened.
She wasn't trying to reject him.
It was just that her fear of pregnancy was bone-deep.
But the atmosphere had finally eased tonight.
Her plan was progressing smoothly. How could she let it fall apart now?
She clenched her fingers, her nails digging into her palms.
Perhaps... she wouldn't be that unlucky.
She had just had a miscarriage. Her body hadn't fully recovered yet. Even if she wanted to get pregnant, it wouldn't be that easy.
She shouldn't overthink it.
She had to seize the opportunity.
She took a deep breath, quietly turned over, and began unbuttoning her own clothes.
Her fair skin was exposed to the cool air.
She pressed against his broad back, her soft arms wrapping around to his front, slowly undoing the buttons of his pajamas.
Liam's body stiffened abruptly. "What are you doing? Didn't you say no? There's no need to force yourself."
The small hands unbuttoning his clothes paused.
His heart sank gradually.
He thought she would withdraw her hands.
But the next second, those small hands continued their movements.
His pajamas were pushed aside. Her soft, delicate body pressed tightly against his back. Skin against skin, the sensation was scorching.
Liam's Adam's apple bobbed.
Her warm body heat transmitted through their skin, almost setting him on fire.
And those hands in front of him were now wandering restlessly around his waist.
Her seduction wasn't skilled, but every move was deadly.
The fire inside him had been completely ignited.
"Don't mess around," he growled hoarsely, annoyed.
Did she think pleasing him like this would make him forget what just happened?
He wouldn't be so easily seduced.
"I'm not messing around," Vivian said, puzzled. "Weren't you the one in a hurry just now? Now that I'm giving it to you, you're putting on airs?"
"You were the one who rejected me first." He was still hung up on her two questions earlier.
That was clearly resistance.
Seeing him angry, afraid he might truly lose his temper, she reluctantly gave in and came back.
She wasn't willing. She was just forced.
The thought that she was being coerced made the stifling anger in his heart grow stronger.
"I didn't reject you," Vivian said irritably. "I just don't want to get pregnant again so soon. Isn't that normal? Why do you always twist my words?"
"Really?" Liam turned his head, looking at her sullenly. "You're not being forced? For something like this, I don't want to force you."
Even though last night happened without her consent.
But now she was awake. He didn't want to coerce her.
Vivian reached out and wrapped her arms around his neck. "Don't you know women have desires too? Do I really have to beg you?"
