Chapter 117

Vivian Bennett found an excuse to leave the event early.

Liam Sullivan stood up as well, bidding farewell to Zachary Hudson.

He wrapped his arm around her waist and led her out directly.

Inside the car, the driver reminded him quietly, "Mr. Sullivan, it's time to head to the airport."

Vivian immediately spoke up. "You should go catch your flight. I can get back on my own."

She reached for the door handle to get out.

Liam's voice was firm. "Head to Lakeside Manor first."

Vivian was taken aback.

He wanted to take her home first?

Wasn't he worried about missing his flight?

The driver started the car as instructed.

Vivian turned to look out the window, her thoughts drifting away.

"What are you thinking about?"

Liam suddenly tightened his grip on her hand.

Vivian snapped back to reality and forced a smile. "Nothing."

"How do you know Zachary Hudson?" Liam narrowed his eyes, his tone scrutinizing.

Vivian stiffened.

Of course he had noticed.

She lowered her gaze and replied softly, "The PR department was negotiating a collaboration with him before. I attended some meetings."

Liam seemed to recall the incident after a moment of thought and didn't press further.

"Stay away from him." His voice was low, betraying no emotion.

Vivian had already intended to keep her distance.

"Okay," she agreed quietly.

The car arrived at the entrance of her community.

"I'm here." Vivian held the door handle and turned to say goodbye.

The person beside her remained silent.

Vivian looked at him, puzzled.

Liam suddenly pulled her closer by the waist, leaning in.

Before she could react, his lips were on hers.

Vivian's eyes widened.

Liam savored her sweetness greedily.

The kiss deepened.

Vivian felt her body go weak, surrendering to his demands.

A sudden chill touched her chest.

She looked down and saw her blouse had been pulled open.

"No!"

She pushed against him in panic.

Liam stopped abruptly.

He buried his face in her neck, breathing heavily.

He had almost lost control.

"Wait for me to return." He adjusted her blouse, his voice husky. "Stop avoiding me."

Vivian's mind was in chaos. She nodded hastily.

She just wanted to escape quickly.

She stumbled out of the car and ran home. Only after closing the door did she fully process what happened.

His last words…

What did they mean?

Was he saying she shouldn't refuse him when he returned from his business trip?

Did he want to…
