Chapter 129

Vivian Bennett rushed back to her hotel room.

She slammed the door shut.

Zachary Hudson was completely locked out.

Zachary stood outside the closed door.

He stared at it with an amused glint in his eyes.

This woman had accompanied him to the city, yet she was constantly on guard against him.

When she saw that man at the mall today, she was scared out of her wits.

What history did they share?

Interesting.

A intrigued smile curled at the corner of Zachary's lips.

Vivian leaned against the door, her heart pounding like a drum.

She never expected to run into Brandon White so soon after arriving in the city.

If he discovered her and dragged her back, her life would be over.

She collapsed onto the bed, her entire body cold.

She had worn high heels and carried numerous shopping bags while accompanying Zachary.

Now, every part of her ached.

Overwhelming exhaustion washed over her.

Vivian closed her eyes and quickly fell into a deep sleep.

In her drowsy state, she felt something wriggling on her body.

It was slippery, tickling her as it moved.

Vivian was too tired to care.

She swatted it away and turned over, continuing to sleep.

Not long after, the wriggling sensation returned.

This time, it was more distinct.

Vivian could bear it no longer and opened her eyes.

"Who's there?" she shouted angrily.

The next second, her pupils constricted violently.

Vivian screamed in terror.

A snake?

There was actually a snake on her bed!

The snake was only about twenty centimeters long, with vibrant, colorful patterns.

It was flicking its tongue, slowly slithering.

Vivian was terrified out of her mind.

She had heard that the more brightly colored a snake, the more venomous it was.

This snake's patterns were so vivid, it must be extremely poisonous.

Cold sweat dripped from her forehead. She didn't dare move a muscle.

"What's going on?" Zachary's knocking came from outside the door.

Vivian cried for help urgently.

"Save me! There's a snake in my room!"

Even though she disliked this man, he was her only hope now.

"I don't have a key card. How do I get in?" Zachary asked leisurely.

"Go get the hotel manager! Hurry!" Vivian shouted, her voice choked with tears.

The snake suddenly began crawling up her leg.

The icy sensation made her blood run cold.

If it crawled into her clothes...

Vivian didn't even dare to imagine.

"Wait, I'll go get the key card." Zachary's voice faded as he walked away.

Just before he left, Vivian thought she heard him chuckle softly.
