Chapter 144
Vivian Bennett instinctively shook her head. "No..."
Before she could finish, Liam Sullivan pulled her into his arms.
He looked down at her, his gaze intense. "Why not?"
Vivian was sitting on his lap, her cheeks flushed.
She struggled to get up. "Let me go first... We're still eating."
"You eat." Liam cupped the back of her head and kissed her.
He murmured against her lips. "I'll watch."
Vivian lightly pounded his chest. "How can I eat like this?"
"I just want to kiss you." Liam deepened the kiss, his voice hoarse. "I can't control myself."
Vivian felt dizzy from the kiss.
Unconsciously, she began to respond hesitantly.
That unintentional act instantly ignited the fire within Liam.
He tightened his arms, pulling her closer.
Vivian trembled and gasped. "How are you again..."
"Again what?" Liam nibbled her earlobe, his breath scorching.
Vivian pushed against him in panic. "Let me go first..."
"I don't want to." Liam breathed heavily, nuzzling her ear. "I never want to let go."
His hot breath sprayed against her ear, making her shiver.
She slapped his shoulders hard, trying to retreat.
But Liam caught her wrist and kissed her again.
He held her waist, pressing her against him for a deep kiss.
Vivian was forced to tilt her head back, enduring this overly intimate kiss.
Amusement flickered in Liam's eyes.
Vivian's face burned crimson.
Liam firmly held her waist, kissing her more deeply.
Vivian could only cling to his shoulders, powerless to resist.
Just then, a knock suddenly sounded at the door.
Vivian grasped at this lifeline, urgently clutching his shirt.
But Liam was too absorbed in the kiss to notice.
The knocking paused briefly before her phone rang.
"Vivian, are you in there?"
Sophia Miller's voice came from outside the door.
"It's my best friend!" Vivian pushed him away with all her strength, breathing unsteadily.
Liam met her misty eyes and paused.
He suddenly remembered she had just recovered from a fever.
When had he become so impatient?
Couldn't even wait for her to fully recover?
Liam inwardly cursed his loss of control around this woman.
His eyes darkened before he finally released her.
Vivian immediately broke free from his embrace.
"Vivian!"
The knocking continued outside.
She hurriedly straightened her dress and walked quickly toward the door.
