Chapter 219

Vivian Bennett snapped out of her panic.

She frowned deeply.

"I'll take a taxi with them!"

She tried to squeeze into the group of colleagues.

Zachary Hudson pulled her back.

The corner of his mouth lifted.

"Ride with me."

"No!" Vivian quickly made an excuse.

"How would I get home after dinner?"

"I'll drive you." Zachary's voice was low.

Silence fell instantly.

Sullivan Group employees lowered their heads, pretending not to hear.

Emily Davis shot her a knowing look.

It seemed to say: So you're involved with young master Hudson.

Vivian gritted her teeth in anger.

She glared fiercely at Zachary.

Amusement flickered in his eyes.

"If we don't leave now, I'll carry you to the car."

"Get lost!" Vivian shot him a sharp look and rushed out the door first.

The atmosphere in the sports car was oppressive.

Vivian sat stiffly, irritation radiating from her.

"Mr. Hudson, is this amusing? Coming to my company is one thing, but why join the dinner?"

"I just want to have a meal with you."

"With so many colleagues around, I don't want..." Vivian frowned.

"Don't want what?" Zachary's voice turned cold abruptly.

His sharp, captivating eyes swept over her.

Vivian's heart trembled.

She forced herself to speak.

"I don't want people misunderstanding our relationship."

"Misunderstanding what?"

"We're nothing like what they think!" Her words came out flustered.

If he were an ordinary man, it might be different.

But he was Zachary Hudson.

People would only think she was climbing the social ladder.

Zachary suddenly smirked.

"Should we make it what they think then?"

Vivian felt communication was impossible.

She softened her tone.

"Mr. Hudson, please be kind and let me out."

The tactic worked.

Zachary's expression eased slightly as he turned the steering wheel toward the curb.

Success!

Vivian secretly rejoiced.

But once the car stopped, Zachary only asked one question.

"Is this how ordinary couples act?"

He reached out and grasped her hand.

Vivian's eyes widened in disbelief.

She almost blurted out: Who wants to be your couple!

But she knew Zachary's troublesome nature.

Open refusal would only bring trouble.

She needed a way to make him back off.

Vivian was forced to walk hand-in-hand with Zachary into the parking lot.

The colleagues who took taxis arrived later.

They immediately saw two figures standing at the entrance of the Spicy Hot Pot restaurant.

The woman was making faces, trying to shake off his hand.

The man remained expressionless, holding on firmly.

To everyone watching, they looked no different from any quarreling couple on the street.

All doubts about their relationship vanished.

"Everyone's here. Let's go in." Zachary commanded.

No one dared to enter first.

Zachary led the way, pulling Vivian along.

She struggled the entire way.

But Zachary handled her like a feral cat, dragging her straight into the restaurant.
