Chapter 331
Vivian Bennett opened the door.
Liam Sullivan stood outside.
His features were sharp and handsome, radiating vitality.
Vivian let out a soft, sleepy hum.
"Liam Sullivan, I'm hungry."
The man chuckled deeply.
He reached out and pinched the tip of her nose.
"My little piglet sure can eat and sleep."
Vivian's eyes widened instantly.
"Who's your little piglet!"
She protested, her cheeks puffing out in anger.
"It's all your fault that I'm so hungry."
"You kept me up until the middle of the night last night..."
She abruptly cut herself off.
Her cheeks instantly flushed crimson.
Liam's laughter was a low, deep rumble.
"Sorry, my fault."
He leaned close to her ear.
"I'll make sure to feed you properly later."
He pressed the intercom button.
"Grace Evans, bring in the lunch."
A knock soon sounded at the door.
"Come in."
The door was pushed open.
A capable, professional-looking woman entered.
Vivian instinctively tried to retreat.
Liam wrapped an arm around her waist.
Their bodies pressed close together.
He whispered in her ear.
"Don't be afraid. This is my secretary, Grace Evans."
Vivian's heart skipped a beat.
She had never heard of this female secretary.
Grace Evans appeared completely composed.
"Hello, Miss Bennett. I'm Grace Evans."
Vivian managed a weak smile.
"Hello."
Grace set out the meal and then left.
Vivian stared at the table full of food.
"When did you get a female secretary?"
Liam raised an eyebrow.
"Jealous?"
He gave a light laugh.
"She's been with me for many years. Primarily handles internal affairs."
Vivian turned her face away.
"Who's jealous? I was just asking."
The man sat down beside her.
His voice was magnetic and alluring.
"My energy is only enough to handle a little temptress like you."
The tips of Vivian's ears burned.
She silently retorted in her mind.
Limited energy?
Who was it that showed no signs of fatigue last night?
Thinking of those images made her cheeks grow even redder.
Like a perfectly ripe tomato.
As they ate quietly, her phone suddenly rang.
It was a call from Jason Harper.
Vivian glanced hesitantly at Liam.
She pressed the answer button.
"Brother-in-law?"
Jason Harper's voice was hoarse.
"Vivian, have you visited your cousin recently?"
Vivian pressed her lips together.
He sounded like he had just woken up.
"Yes."
She replied softly.
A woman's voice suddenly came through the phone.
"Honey, why aren't you coming over yet..."
The call ended abruptly.
Vivian gripped her phone tightly.
That was Lily Evans's voice.
Jason Harper's mistress.
He was still with his mistress.
Yet he had the nerve to pretend to care about her cousin.
How utterly hypocritical.
Liam noticed her change in mood.
"What's wrong?"
Vivian shook her head.
"Nothing."
She put her phone away.
The ringing started again.
Vivian answered it absentmindedly.
