Chapter 354

She had never expected any compensation from him.

But shouldn't there be at least some basic respect?

He had injured her so long ago.

He hadn't even bothered to call and check on her.

Now she had come to find him in person.

And this was the attitude he gave her?

"Liam Sullivan." Chloe Winston grew more aggrieved the longer she thought about it. She quickly caught up to him. "Is this how you treat me?"

Liam Sullivan stopped walking, impatience etching his features. "What exactly do you want?"

"Take me out to dinner as an apology!"

She glanced at the time and looked up at him. "It's just after work. Buy me a meal, and we can consider the matter settled."

"I have a business dinner tonight." His voice was cold. "No time to entertain you."

He waved for Ryan Johnson. "My assistant will host you. Put all expenses on my account."

Ryan was taken aback.

Accompany this young lady to dinner?

Chloe nearly laughed in anger. "What good is your assistant? You're the one who hurt me. Why should your assistant apologize?"

"When I'm busy, they handle these matters for me." Liam's gaze shifted to Ryan.

Ryan immediately understood. He nodded quickly. "Miss Winston, Mr. Sullivan truly has an important engagement. My company is just as good."

"If I wanted your company for dinner, why would I come here?"

She glared at them both before turning back to Liam. "You have a business dinner?"

She nodded magnanimously. "Perfect. I'll go with you. You handle your business, I'll have my dinner. Two birds with one stone."

She just wanted a way to save face.

She needed him to personally apologize and make amends.

Liam understood her intentions perfectly.

But he mercilessly rejected her proposal.

He couldn't be bothered to argue further. He spoke directly to Ryan. "Take Miss Winston to dinner. If that doesn't work, bring Oliver Winston along."

Oliver Winston, who had just reached the corner, silently retreated upon hearing this.

It wasn't that he lacked loyalty.

He just had no desire to wade into these troubled waters.

Liam checked his watch and frowned. "I'm due at my appointment. I have to go."

He strode away with long steps.

Chloe tried to follow, but Ryan blocked her path.

"My apologies, Miss Winston. Mr. Sullivan never brings female companions to business meetings." Ryan said apologetically. "If you require an apology, I can..."

"I don't need you!"

Blocked from pursuing him, Chloe trembled with rage.

She watched Liam's retreating figure, feeling like her heart and lungs would explode.

She shouted at his back, "I will make you take me to dinner and apologize willingly!"

Liam didn't pause. He stepped directly into the elevator.
