Chapter 359
Vivian Bennett’s pupils constricted sharply.
She stared in disbelief at the man who had suddenly appeared before her.
Her heart pounded so hard it felt like it might leap from her chest.
Zachary Hudson stood before her, a faint, mocking smile playing on his lips.
His gaze burned into her.
“Do you love him?”
Vivian froze.
She hadn’t expected him to ask that question so abruptly.
“What did you say?”
Zachary kept his hands in his suit pockets.
His eyes were deep and unreadable.
“I asked if you truly love Liam Sullivan.”
His tone carried an indescribable nuance.
Vivian frowned delicately.
“What exactly are you trying to say?”
“Vivian.” He chuckled softly. “Do you think Liam Sullivan loves you?”
She remained silent.
“You’ve been with him for so long. Haven’t you ever wondered why he chose you in the first place?”
Vivian offered a faint smile.
“I don’t know why he chose me.”
She paused briefly.
“But I know it certainly wasn’t for money or fame.”
“Indeed.” Zachary’s lips curved into a cold smile. “But that doesn’t mean he loves you.”
He looked at her meaningfully.
“Otherwise, why would he still be entangled with other women?”
Vivian’s face paled slightly.
She understood the implication in his words.
“Are you trying to drive a wedge between us?” she said coldly. “I won’t fall for it.”
Zachary let out a light laugh.
“Whether it’s me causing trouble or the truth, you’ll find out soon enough.”
He glanced into the distance.
“Isn’t he on his way to see you right now?”
Vivian pressed her lips together tightly.
Zachary suddenly looked at her deeply.
For a moment, she almost saw a trace of tenderness in his gaze.
“Vivian.” He said quietly. “If I asked you to come back to me, would you reconsider?”
He paused.
“If Liam Sullivan doesn’t love you.”
Vivian didn’t answer.
She had no intention of answering that question.
Soon, a black limousine sped into view.
Liam Sullivan had arrived.
Zachary quietly stepped aside.
A playful smile lingered on his lips.
He was ready to enjoy the show.
To Vivian’s surprise, another car followed closely behind.
Chloe Winston stepped out of the vehicle.
She clearly hadn’t expected Liam to be meeting Vivian.
The moment she saw Vivian, she visibly froze.
Liam got out of his car and walked straight toward Vivian.
He leaned down and placed a kiss on her forehead.
“Have you been waiting long?”
But Vivian’s gaze was fixed on Chloe.
She finally understood the meaning behind Zachary’s earlier words.
This was Liam’s blind date.
The fiance candidate chosen by his grandparents.
Vivian’s heart sank heavily.
She turned to look at Liam, her voice trembling slightly.
“You two…?”
Liam had noticed Chloe following him earlier.
He had intended to lose her.
But then he thought it might be better to let her come.
Chloe walked forward awkwardly.
She stood there, at a loss.
