Chapter 363

Liam Sullivan picked Vivian Bennett up from work.

The atmosphere in the car was heavy.

He remained silent the entire drive, his brow deeply furrowed.

Vivian turned to look at him.

His jaw was tight, his expression grave.

They arrived at Emerald Estate.

Vivian got out of the car and turned to face him.

Liam walked toward her, his face unreadable.

She asked softly, "Is something wrong at the company?"

His voice was flat. "Why do you ask?"

"You've been frowning this whole time."

She reached out, her fingertips gently smoothing his forehead.

"Don't frown so much."

She smiled. "You'll get wrinkles."

Liam's eyes darkened.

He stared at her face, his gaze complex.

Vivian was about to speak.

But he said, "Let's go inside first."

His tone was distant.

Vivian frowned. "What's really going on with you?"

Liam leaned against the car.

He pulled out a cigarette case and lit one.

Vivian reached over and took it from him.

"Stop smoking."

She said seriously, "Smoking won't solve anything."

Liam watched her.

He finally put the cigarette case away.

"You win." He pinched her cheek.

But his eyes remained deep and troubled.

He turned and walked toward the villa.

Vivian followed, linking her arm with his.

"What happened?"

Liam remained silent.

That night.

The bedroom was dimly lit.

Liam suddenly grasped her hand.

"We're going to the family estate tomorrow."

Vivian was startled.

"To see your family?"

"Yes."

She did not object.

The next day.

The car sped along the highway.

Patriarch Sullivan called.

Liam gave short, clipped answers.

Vivian looked out the window.

She said softly, "Is it too late to back out now?"

Liam's fingers stilled.

He turned to look at her, his gaze intense.

"You're on my ship now. There's no escaping."
