Chapter 370

The next morning, Liam Sullivan brought Vivian Bennett back to the villa.

He cleared his entire schedule to personally care for her.

His movements were meticulous and gentle, even testing the temperature of her medicine before feeding it to her.

Vivian watched his focused profile, warmth flooding her heart.

This thoughtful care was more considerate than even family could provide.

Isabella Sullivan learned about her discharge and came to visit.

She carried a fruit basket with a concerned expression on her face.

Her voice choked up when she mentioned not being able to save her in time that day.

"Vivian, I regret being so terrified in that moment..."

Tears streamed down her face as she spoke.

Vivian comforted her softly. "Anyone would be scared in that situation."

Though she said this, doubts lingered in her heart.

The incident that day was too strange.

The black dog had clearly been charging toward Isabella. Why did it suddenly turn toward her?

These questions pricked at her heart like thorns, but she kept them to herself.

Late at night, Vivian was sound asleep when she felt the mattress dip.

She opened her eyes alertly, meeting Liam's intense gaze.

The bedside lamp cast a warm glow around him, softening his sharp features.

She blinked in surprise. "When did you get back?"

Liam smiled at her sleepy appearance.

Even with her injuries, she looked utterly adorable to him.

He carefully pulled her into his arms, avoiding all her wounds.

He kissed her lips, gently yet possessively deepening the kiss.

The kiss lasted until they were both breathless.

Liam pressed his forehead against hers, his voice husky. "When you're better, you'll compensate me double."

He suppressed his urges, simply holding her tightly.

Vivian understood his implication, her cheeks burning instantly.

Liam got up to wash his hands, returning with a tube of ointment.

He applied it gently to her wounds with a cotton swab.

Vivian winced in pain, but he continued without pause.

"What is this medicine?"

"Oliver Winston's special scar removal ointment. It's very effective."

Vivian asked quietly, "If I have scars, will you dislike me?"

Liam paused, amusement flashing in his eyes.

So she had been worrying about this all along.

He ruffled her hair. "I like you just the way you are. Even if you were ugly, I'd still want you."

His blunt words were more moving than any sweet nothing.

Vivian's heart felt sweet, as if soaked in honey.

She leaned into his embrace, savoring his comforting warmth.

The night deepened as they fell asleep in each other's arms.
