Chapter 374
Liam Sullivan chuckled softly at the hoarse, drowsy voice on the phone. "Were you asleep?"
His voice was rich like aged red wine, magnetic and laced with unconcealed affection.
Vivian Bennett snapped awake instantly, a smile tugging at her lips. "Is your business dinner over?"
He gazed up at her window, his tone even. "Not yet."
"What kind of dinner goes this late?" Her soft voice felt like a feather brushing against his heart.
Liam's Adam's apple bobbed. He suddenly wanted to crush her into his embrace. "I'm downstairs. Come out."
Her heart skipped a beat. She ran barefoot to the window.
The black Maybach stood out under the streetlights. She hastily ended the call, grabbed a coat, and slipped downstairs quietly.
Liam stood in the night breeze in his black suit, tall and imposing yet radiating loneliness.
Seeing her running figure, he opened his arms and caught her firmly.
Vivian shivered slightly from the chill he carried, catching the strong scent of alcohol. "Why didn't you call me? It's so cold out here."
Liam stared at her clean, makeup-free face, his breathing suddenly growing heavy.
He pulled the car door open, his voice low. "Get in first."
The driver tactfully stepped out for a smoke.
The interior fell silent instantly.
Liam pressed her against the car door. One hand gripped her waist, the other cupped her cheek. He lowered his head and captured her soft lips.
Since she moved back, he had been swamped, barely finding time to even look at her properly.
All his longing now poured into this fervent kiss.
The temperature inside the cramped space soared suddenly.
Liam's hand slipped inside her pajamas, desperate to meld her into his very bones.
"Come home with me," he rasped, his voice thick with desire.
Before Vivian could process it, the driver returned to his seat.
Half an hour later, the car glided into Emerald Estate.
Vivian looked at the familiar villa, her heart rippling with emotion.
Liam led her inside. The late-night community was empty.
He suddenly pinned her against the wall and kissed her again.
Vivian pushed against him in panic. "There are cameras... don't..."
Liam buried his face in the crook of her neck, his breath scalding. "I can't help it."
He swept her up into his arms and strode toward the villa.
The electronic lock beeped open. He carried her across the threshold.
Their passionate entanglement spread from the entrance all the way to the bedroom.
Though he didn't stay here often, the place was always kept immaculate.
The thirty-minute drive from Lakeside Manor to Emerald Estate had unleashed all his pent-up longing in this moment.
