Chapter 417

Vivian Bennett was handling documents in her office.

Hurried footsteps suddenly sounded outside the door.

Albert Sullivan pushed the door open in a fluster.

He clutched a yellowed photograph tightly in his hand.

The photo had been burned, leaving only half remaining.

He leaned closer to Vivian with a mysterious air.

"Vivian, look at this photo."

"Do you recognize this person?"

Vivian took the photo and examined it carefully.

The woman in the picture had delicate features, with some resemblance to her in the eyes and brows.

Yet they weren't completely identical.

She shook her head. "I don't know her."

Albert pointed at the photo urgently.

"What about the thing around her neck?"

"Do you recognize it?"

Vivian's gaze fell on the jade pendant.

She froze instantly.

It was clearly the same jade her mother had left her.

Though the photo had yellowed, the patterns on the pendant were identical.

Albert watched her expression.

He rubbed his temples in confusion.

"I've been dreaming about her recently."

"The dreams contain many things about her."

"But I forget everything when I wake up."

Vivian studied Albert.

His expression was serious now, his logic clear.

He didn't seem like someone with mental problems at all.

Had he really lost his memory?

Why couldn't any hospital detect it?

Who was the woman in the photo?

Why did she have the same jade pendant?

Countless questions swirled in her mind.

Albert suddenly lowered his voice.

"Don't tell anyone I came to see you."

"If you recognize who she is, you must tell me."

With that, he hurried away.

Leaving Vivian alone with her thoughts.

Liam Sullivan had been exceptionally busy lately.

They could only talk once a day on the phone.

They hadn't seen each other for several days.

At the end of the workday, heavy rain suddenly poured from the sky.

Summer rain arrived without warning.

Colleagues were all waiting for the rain to stop.

Vivian stood under the corridor for shelter.

A black limousine slowly approached.

She accidentally glimpsed the license plate.

Her eyes immediately lit up.

Liam pushed the car door open.

Vivian hurried into the car.

He carefully fastened her seatbelt.

Then lightly kissed the corner of her lips.

"I came to pick you up as soon as I returned."

The car drove smoothly through the rain curtain.

Vivian remembered Albert's matter.

She hesitated before speaking.

"Your uncle came to see me a few days ago."

"He showed me a photo of a woman."

"The woman looked very similar to me."

"She was wearing the same jade pendant as me."

Before she could finish, Liam suddenly braked.

He pulled her tightly into his embrace.

His voice was low and hoarse.

"Don't meet him alone from now on."

"What if he hurts you?"

Vivian hugged him back.

"I think he's completely lucid."

"He doesn't seem as scary as they say."

Liam suddenly kissed her lips.

This kiss carried an unprecedented urgency.

Vivian faintly sensed it.

He seemed burdened with worries since returning this time.

His entire being radiated restless agitation.
