Chapter 420
She looked at the unconscious man on the hospital bed.
Tears streamed down her face uncontrollably.
Albert Sullivan had been admitted to the hospital with a high fever from being caught in the rain.
During the examination, doctors discovered impact wounds on his head.
Sylvia Sullivan kept silent vigil by his bedside.
She cared for him meticulously without a single word of complaint.
She remained silent even after his fever broke.
One day, while Sylvia was away, Albert slipped out of his hospital room.
He went to the Sullivan Group headquarters wearing his patient gown.
He stood quietly in a corner, watching Vivian Bennett's busy figure.
He suddenly remembered the jade pendant she wore.
"This is a keepsake from my mother." Her gentle voice echoed in his ears.
Albert's mind exploded.
He could no longer maintain his composure.
Returning to his hospital room, he quickly changed clothes.
He sent someone to find the White family's address in the city and immediately drove there.
Standing before the White family villa, Albert's emotions churned.
He took a deep breath and stepped forward to knock on the main door.
A servant opened the door and looked him over. "Who are you looking for, sir?"
Albert smiled nervously. "Is Vivian Bennett home?"
The servant paused. "The young mistress moved out long ago."
"Only the young master and his wife live here now."
"May I see them?" Albert asked.
After a moment's hesitation, the servant let him in.
Albert observed the courtyard layout as he walked.
"This garden is quite distinctive. Who designed it?"
The servant said proudly, "The late mistress designed it."
"It's been kept exactly as she left it."
Albert suddenly froze in place.
The familiar scene awakened long-buried memories.
An identical courtyard appeared in his mind, along with a slender figure...
Brandon White didn't expect to see Albert Sullivan.
He only remembered him as Liam Sullivan's uncle.
"Mr. Sullivan, what brings you here unexpectedly?" Brandon asked.
Albert quickly collected himself, realizing his abruptness.
The moment he saw Vivian, this idea had taken root.
He needed to come to the White residence to confirm certain things.
The courtyard's layout confirmed his suspicions.
Everything was Sophia White's work.
Why had she married Brandon White?
Why had she never looked for him...
Countless questions swirled in his mind.
Albert smiled awkwardly. "I was just passing by and admired your courtyard."
"My apologies for the intrusion."
Brandon saw through it but didn't comment. "Since you're here, join me for tea."
He had a servant brew a pot of excellent tea.
