Chapter 423

Liam Sullivan rubbed his temples as he looked at her slightly angry face.

"She's irrelevant. Don't waste your thoughts on her. I doubt she meant any harm."

Vivian Bennett pinched his waist in frustration.

"If she didn't mean it, then you must have done it on purpose?"

He chuckled lowly at her sharp retort.

"I promise, no one will disturb us again."

He turned and locked the office door.

Vivian couldn't help but laugh at his impatient demeanor.

Liam gazed at her delicate face and scooped her up, placing her in his office chair.

She frowned at the computer in front of her.

"Aren't you going to work?"

He leaned down to kiss her cheek.

"You're more important than work."

She shot him a playful glare.

"Stop that. Everyone knows you're a workaholic."

Liam laughed deeply.

"Once things settle down in a few years, I'll step back and focus on you."

He pressed her down onto the desk.

Men were always so domineering.

After their passionate encounter, Vivian lay limp in his arms, too tired to move a finger.

Liam carried her soft form to the large bed in the restroom and laid her down gently.

He settled beside her.

She nestled against his chest, her leg draped over him, breathing in his unique, comforting scent.

Slowly, she drifted into sleep.

Liam waited until she was sound asleep before carefully rising.

Hearing a knock at the office door, he frowned and went to answer it.

Ryan Johnson smiled as he handed over a file, noting the CEO's refreshed appearance.

"The planning department just sent this proposal."

Liam took the file and spoke calmly.

"You can head home for the day if there's nothing else."

Ryan's eyes widened in surprise.

Normally, he wouldn't dare leave before the CEO.

Today was truly unusual.

Ryan hummed a cheerful tune as he walked out.

Upon reaching the secretarial office, he saw Lily Ashcroft sitting there with red-rimmed eyes.

He sighed softly.

"Ms. Ashcroft, why are you still here?"

Lily hurriedly composed herself and forced a smile.

"I was just about to leave."

"Shall we go together?" Ryan paused, waiting for her.

The elevator was silent except for the two of them.

After a moment of thought, Ryan spoke gently.

"Ms. Ashcroft, if you want to stay by the CEO's side long-term, you must know your place. You've been with him for years. You understand his temperament."

Lily, being clever, smiled awkwardly.

"Thank you for the reminder, Mr. Johnson."

The elevator doors opened.

Ryan whistled cheerfully as he strode away.

If anything were to happen to Ms. Bennett, the CEO would undoubtedly reassign Lily immediately.

Liam was urgently summoned by the elder Sullivans that day.

He thought something serious had happened.

Instead, they had brought Isabella Sullivan back home.

They pleaded extensively on her behalf.

Their intention was crystal clear.

They wanted him to forgive Isabella and drop the matter of her framing Vivian.

Isabella, knowing her position, proactively apologized to Liam.
