Chapter 481

Liam Sullivan's low, husky voice held an undeniable force.

"I want you to help me."

Vivian Bennett felt the urge to bite him.

How could he make even this difficult for her?

"I don't know how... What if I hurt you?" Her cheeks burned as her voice trailed off.

Amusement flickered in Liam's eyes.

He took her hand and guided it patiently.

"I'll teach you."

Vivian buried her entire face in the quilt, wrapping herself up like a cocoon.

After all that, the fear from her nightmare had completely vanished.

Liam chuckled and pulled her bundled form into his arms.

He kissed the top of her head gently.

"Sleep."

He had deliberately teased her to distract her.

Though he had played with fire and gotten burned, he couldn't bear to exhaust her further.

There would be plenty of time later.

He didn't want to scare her away.

Vivian woke up the next afternoon.

The space beside her was empty.

He had been disappearing mysteriously a lot lately.

The doorbell rang.

A delivery guy arrived with a lavish lunch and a huge bouquet of flowers.

"I didn't order anything?" Vivian stared at the exquisite meal, all her favorite hometown dishes.

The delivery guy smiled and handed her the flowers.

"A handsome gentleman ordered them. He said to guess who he is."

Vivian held the fragrant bouquet, her mood instantly brightening.

She arranged the flowers in a vase by the window.

After enjoying the meal, she called Liam.

"A mysterious man sent me flowers and food today. Too bad he didn't leave his contact info." She swung her feet playfully, her tone smug.

Liam played along, lowering his voice.

"Who dares to chase my girlfriend? I'll have to treat him to some bullets."

"Jealous?" Vivian laughed even harder.

Liam sighed with fake sorrow.

"Extremely jealous. My heart aches."

"Keep pretending." She saw right through him.

"Who else would be so bold besides you?"

"You figured it out that fast?" He chuckled softly.

"Did you enjoy the lunch?"
