Chapter 501
Liam Sullivan entered the basement alone.
His gaze swept over Crystal Evans, bound to a cross, her cheeks swollen and streaked with tears.
It finally settled on the slender figure dressed in black.
His face was as cold as ice.
He stared fixedly at that person, his hands clenched into tight fists at his sides.
He was still in the attire from the gala dinner, having only removed his suit jacket.
Beneath his sharply pressed suit trousers were handmade leather shoes of the same color.
From head to toe, impeccable.
His eyes were dark and indifferent, locking onto the woman like a ghost.
"Finally couldn't hold back any longer?"
The woman's body trembled slightly.
Liam strode towards her on his long legs.
The woman instinctively retreated.
The two burly men she had brought stepped in front of her, growling menacingly.
"Get out."
Liam couldn't be bothered with words.
His slender fingers undid the first two buttons of his shirt.
He flexed his wrists.
Then he threw a punch straight at each man's face.
His handsome face showed little expression.
The corner of his mouth even held a trace of mockery.
The two men who were hit roared in anger and lunged at him simultaneously.
Both were former mercenaries, skilled fighters.
The basement immediately echoed with the sounds of fists and feet colliding, dull thuds ringing out continuously.
Seeing this, the slender woman quietly retreated, trying to slip away in the chaos.
She had just reached the doorway when several black-clad bodyguards blocked her way, forcing her back.
Her escape route was cut off.
Beneath her mask, her lips twisted into a self-mocking smile.
A mist gathered in her eyes as she looked at the man fighting one against two.
He seemed like a different person.
The refined, aloof coldness was gone.
His punches were vicious and ruthless.
His entire body radiated an aura of bloodlust and brutality.
His wild, savage nature was completely unleashed.
Even his features seemed tinged with a dark ferocity.
In less than the time it takes to drink a cup of tea, the two mercenaries lay on the ground, unable to get up.
He clapped his hands lightly.
His face and the corner of his mouth were bruised.
But the ruthless fierceness in his bones hadn't diminished in the slightest.
Stepping over the bodies of the two men, he walked to the cross.
He unfastened Crystal's chains.
He called over a bodyguard.
"Take her to the hospital."
...
Only two people remained in the basement.
Liam wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth.
His dark eyes were icy as they looked at the woman.
"Still not willing to show your face?"
The woman's slender body pressed tightly against the doorframe.
Her head was bowed.
She remained silent.
"Isabella, why?"
Hearing the name "Isabella," the woman shuddered violently.
Liam walked up to her.
He yanked off her cap and mask in one swift motion.
A face as pale as paper was revealed.
"You didn't want me to have a child with another woman, so you kidnapped Crystal and forced her to take an abortion pill?"
Isabella Sullivan covered her face with both hands.
Tears streamed from between her fingers.
"Brother, it's not like that... I didn't want to... You can't blame me..."
She seemed terrified to the extreme.
Her body began to tremble.
Her words became incoherent.
"It was Grandfather... It's not my fault. I was just following Grandfather's arrangements."
Liam's brows furrowed tightly.
He pulled her hands away from her face.
He stared into her unfocused eyes.
He gripped her shoulders and shook her hard.
"You're blaming your own actions on Grandfather? Isabella, how have you become like this?"
Isabella pushed him away emotionally.
She screamed hoarsely.
"I haven't changed! You're the one who changed! You know perfectly well I love you, yet you've never wanted me!"
