Chapter 514

He didn't seem to have any major injuries, and the car appeared to be fine too.

"I'm alright," Liam Sullivan said, fighting off the dizziness as he grabbed the phone to reassure her.

Vivian Bennett's heart settled a little, but she was still worried. She asked if he was hurt and what had happened.

Liam gave her a brief rundown of the situation.

Vivian was immediately filled with dread. "How could you be so careless? Thank goodness you're okay. You scared me to death. I really thought something had happened to you. I thought you were an excellent driver?"

If something had really happened to him, she would have hated herself forever.

"Even the best drivers can get distracted," Liam's voice was utterly serious. "Especially when I'm on the phone with you."

Vivian shuddered, gripping her phone tighter. His tone wasn't joking.

He was truly insane. Her heart clenched into a tight knot, feeling suffocated. His love was heavy, making it hard for her to breathe.

"I won't talk to you while you're driving anymore," Vivian said quickly.

"Then I'd probably crash head-on for sure."

"Don't say such things."

"I mean it."

Vivian felt a pang of pain and couldn't hold back a soft sob. "Liam, please don't. Don't scare me like this."

Liam let out a helpless chuckle. "Alright, I won't scare you anymore. Have you had dinner yet?"

Vivian tried to keep her voice light. "I'm about to eat!"

Her heart was tangled in knots over him, and he could still change the subject.

"Are you worried about me?" he asked softly.

Vivian closed her eyes, unable to deny it. "Yes."

"Then I'm satisfied," he laughed softly, his mood lifting again. "Now I know you still care about me deep down."

Vivian sighed. "Since you know I care, don't make me worry. Does your head still hurt? Do you need to go to the hospital?"

"No, I'm fine. The car is okay too. I need to continue to the family estate. Wait for me at home." He gave her a verbal kiss and hung up.

Vivian waited and waited at the villa, but Liam didn't return.

Instead, a strange sense of unease tugged at her emotions.

She was deeply concerned about Liam's condition. She wasn't convinced he was truly unharmed.

But since Patriarch Sullivan hadn't accepted her, she couldn't just barge into the Sullivan Family Estate.

She could only call Oliver Winston, asking him to check on Liam at the estate. If anything was wrong, he should tell her immediately.

Oliver's shocked exclamation came through the phone. "Damn, what's going on? Is Liam going back alone right now? He knows Isabella has set a trap, wanting his life. How could he go without anyone?"

"What are you talking about?" Vivian's eyes widened in shock. What trap? What was happening?

It felt like a bolt of lightning had struck her. She held the phone, her entire body frozen stiff.
