Chapter 553

Liam Sullivan's gaze settled on Vivian Bennett's face.

Her cheeks were flushed, like ripening peaches.

Her skin was so fine it seemed you could squeeze water from it.

Under the light, her whole being was dazzlingly radiant.

His heart stirred faintly.

This little woman was still shy about what happened last time.

A faint curve touched the corner of his lips.

His voice softened. "If you don't want to go, we can go home."

Vivian's fingers curled slightly.

There was some awkwardness.

But it had been a long time since their group had gotten together.

If Liam didn't go because of her, his friends would definitely tease him.

She took a soft breath. "Let's go."

In the golf course clubhouse, besides Ethan Roscente, Zachary Hudson, and Oliver Winston, there was an unfamiliar figure.

The woman was tall and slender with fair skin.

She had a neat, short brown haircut.

Her eyes were sharp and capable.

Just as Vivian was wondering, the woman walked over with a smile.

"Vivian, right? Ethan often mentions you." The woman extended her hand with a bright smile. "I'm Camila Rivera."

Vivian was taken aback.

Ethan's highly capable fiancée.

She curved her eyes and shook the offered hand. "Ms. Rivera, I've heard so much about you."

A server led the group to change clothes.

The four men split into two groups to play.

Vivian and Camila sat under a sun umbrella, chatting idly.

Two shuttle carts took them to different fairways.

The game lasted nearly four hours.

By the time it ended, dusk was falling.

The group drove to their usual five-star hotel.

Liam parked the car.

He wrapped an arm around Vivian as they walked toward the hotel entrance.

Just as they stepped onto the stairs, a figure emerged from inside.

Albert Sullivan's steps halted.

His gaze fell on Liam's arm around Vivian.

His eyes instantly grew complex.

He had known these two were together for a while.

But since regaining his memories, he had been thinking more.

If Vivian really was Lina Qiu's daughter...

Would her and Liam's story repeat the tragedy of the past?

Albert's heart tightened.

He strode forward and grabbed Liam's arm.

"A-Xu, come here. I need to talk to you."

Liam's eyes darkened.

He probably guessed what his uncle wanted to say.

But he didn't want Vivian to be present and feel awkward.

He released Vivian.

He said softly, "Go up first. I'll be right there."

Vivian nodded.

She followed Ethan and the others into the elevator.

Beside the steps at the side of the hotel, the night breeze was cool.

Albert stood with his hands on his hips.

His brows were tightly furrowed. "I heard you're planning a wedding?"

"Yes." Liam's answer was straightforward.

"You can't marry her!" Albert's voice suddenly rose.

Liam's gaze turned cold. "Why not?"

"How opposed your father is, don't you know? Forcing her into the Sullivan family, how will she ever find her place? Have you thought about that for her?" Albert's tone was severe.

"Uncle." Liam cut him off, his voice icy. "My marriage is my own decision."

He turned to leave.

Albert shouted after him, "A-Xu! You'll regret this!"

Liam didn't pause his steps.

Albert stood alone in the night.

His shoulders slumped.

The hotel's brilliant lights fell upon him.

They cast a long, lonely shadow.

He looked up at the dark sky.

He let out a long, heavy sigh.
