Chapter 59

A woman's startled gasp came from outside the door.

Her voice trembled with unmistakable fear.

"Who's in there?"

A man growled in displeasure, his tone laced with irritation at the interruption.

The dark office was dead silent.

The man wanted to continue, but the woman pushed him away in resistance.

She nervously pointed toward the desk where Vivian Bennett and Liam Sullivan were hiding, signaling that someone was there.

The man had no choice but to release her and cautiously approach the desk.

Both were married, with families of their own.

To avoid leaving evidence by booking a hotel room, they had waited until everyone left work to have their affair in the office.

If they were discovered and word got out, their families and careers would be ruined.

They had to find out who dared to hide in the office.

Liam heard the approaching footsteps.

He narrowed his eyes sharply, quickly straightening up and pulling the panicked Vivian into his arms.

"Who's there? Come out!" the man shouted angrily.

He took out his phone, turned on the flashlight, and shone it under the desk.

The light illuminated Liam's cold, stern profile.

"B...Boss?" The man was terrified, his voice shaking.

He couldn't believe his eyes.

Why was the big boss here?

"Get out!"

Liam's gaze was as sharp as an ice blade, filled with terrifying anger.

The man shuddered, cold sweat instantly drenching his back.

He scrambled out in a panic, not daring to stay a moment longer.

The woman hadn't seen Liam's face clearly, but after hearing her companion call out "boss" and flee in terror, she realized the situation was bad.

She hurriedly gathered her scattered clothes and fled the scene.

Once she confirmed both had left, Vivian finally relaxed.

The man had only seen Liam's face and was scared out of his wits, not noticing her in his arms.

The woman had fled at the word "boss" and likely hadn't discovered her presence either.

Even if rumors spread tomorrow about the big boss having an under-the-table deal with a female employee in the office, no one would suspect her.

And the cheating couple had their own problems to worry about; they probably wouldn't dare to talk about it.

Unless they both wanted to leave the company.

"Continue?"

Liam's low, husky voice sounded in her ear.

Vivian shuddered, instinctively turning to look at him.

"Continue what?"

"What do you think?" Liam narrowed his deep, dark eyes, his gaze intense.

Vivian's heart raced.

Her cheeks flushed, making her even more captivating.

"No, let me go!" she panicked and struggled.

"Are you sure?" Liam raised an eyebrow, his tone meaningful.

Vivian bit her lip in shame. "No..."

She repeated firmly.

There was no way Vivian could accept having relations with Liam in the office.

Especially since he was the company's big boss.

She didn't want to be accused of seducing her superior for an under-the-table deal.

Liam's deep gaze locked on her, a playful smile curling his lips as his large hand rested on her waist again.

Vivian was on the verge of breaking down.

She screamed, pushed him away with all her strength, and fled in panic!

Liam's low laughter echoed behind her.

Hearing it, Vivian ran even faster.

Liam's eyes darkened, his Adam's apple bobbing.

He would savor her thoroughly sooner or later.
