Chapter 619

"You even confiscated my passport? How long have you been watching me?"

Vivian's chest heaved, her fingertips turning cold.

Every single time, he could precisely sever her escape route, like an impenetrable net, trapping her at its center.

Controlling, domineering, never leaving her a single gap to breathe.

Never truly respecting her wishes.

"If I weren't vigilant, what if I woke up one day to find you gone? Wouldn't that be even more cruel to me?" Liam's voice was low and hoarse, a turbulent pain suppressed deep in his eyes.

He wasn't deliberately spying. It was just that her emotions had been so volatile lately, he had to take precautions.

"Vivian, tell me, what exactly are you trying to do?"

Fortunately, this vigilance allowed him to intercept her path.

Seeing the profound hurt in his eyes, Vivian's tone softened slightly. "Liam, there are too many conflicts between us. I want to postpone the wedding, go abroad to clear my head. We both need some time to cool off. Maybe it would be better for our future relationship. I didn't tell you because I was afraid you'd overthink it."

She softened her stance, trying to soothe his tense nerves.

But Liam only gazed at her deeply, a bitter curve lifting the corner of his mouth.

"Even now, you're still lying to me?" His voice trembled, his fingers unconsciously tightening. His heart felt as if it were being repeatedly crushed by a blunt instrument. "If it's just a temporary leave to cool off, then why... did you transfer all the funds under your name to Grace Harper's account?"

Vivian's face instantly turned deathly pale, her breath catching.

He had even checked her bank statements so thoroughly.

Everything she thought was meticulously planned had long been seen through by him.

"You even checked that..." Her voice shook, unsure whether from anger or despair. "Liam, am I your prisoner?"

A sense of grievance and powerlessness flooded over her like a tide.

Every time she thought she had touched the edge of freedom, he would always yank her back into the cage.

"You control everything about me, monitor my every move. What do you take me for? Your private property? You've never truly respected me, never cared about my feelings. What do you really like? Is it 'me,' or is it the act of 'controlling me'?" Her eyes reddened, each word sharp as a blade. "I'm sick of your arrogance, your tyranny, your unreasonable demands—don't make me hate you. Give me back my passport."

Liam listened to her accusations one by one, watching as the love that once filled her eyes was now replaced only with disgust and anger. His entire heart felt as if it were being torn apart.

If he were truly so despicable, why had she never minded these things when she loved him before?

Once the love was gone, all the past became a list of crimes.

A woman's heart changes so quickly.

"I won't return your passport." His eyes turned cold, his tone resolute and final. "Unless I die, you can forget about taking it."

Vivian stared at him, stunned by his determined gaze. A deep sense of helplessness seized her.

"You think confiscating my passport means I can't leave?" She let out a cold laugh, turning to rush toward the door. "I told you, once I decide something, no one can change it."

Before the words fully left her mouth, she had already pushed open the villa's main door and stepped into the night without looking back.
