Chapter 73

Vivian Bennett was caught completely off guard.

She was lifted off her feet at the waist.

Panic surged through her as she struggled wildly.

"Let me go!"

Liam Sullivan's arms were like iron bands around her.

He didn't release her.

Instead, he held her even tighter.

In a few long strides, he reached the sofa.

He gently set her down upon it.

Vivian shook her head desperately.

"No!"

She had been awake all night, working straight through.

She was utterly exhausted.

After his earlier torment, she had no strength left to resist.

Liam looked down at her, his gaze intense.

Her expression of shame and anger only made her more alluring.

Her frantic struggles had popped the buttons of her suit jacket.

Her lingerie peeked through, hinting at her curves beneath.

Liam's Adam's apple bobbed.

This woman was born to torment him.

"No to what?" His voice was low and husky. "What did you think I was going to do?"

Vivian looked up at him, dazed.

She watched as Liam tore open a package on the coffee table.

He methodically took out breakfast: congee, steamed buns, eggs, milk...

He arranged each item neatly on the table.

Suddenly, Vivian understood.

He wanted her to eat breakfast.

Not what she had been thinking.

Her face flushed a deep crimson.

Liam scooped up a spoonful of congee.

He brought it to her lips.

"Open your mouth."

Vivian stared at him in disbelief.

He was going to feed her himself?

"Not eating?" Liam frowned.

Vivian glared at him defiantly.

Like a small, stubborn animal.

All she wanted was to escape.

She had no appetite for breakfast.

Liam sighed, exasperated by her obstinance.

"Really not eating?"

"I'll do it myself..." Vivian pressed her red lips together.

The words were barely out when Liam put the spoonful of congee into his own mouth.

Vivian's eyes widened.

He was teasing her!

Humiliated and angry, she tried to stand up.

She could just order delivery to her office.

She didn't want his breakfast anyway.

The moment she rose, Liam stood as well.

He cupped the back of her head.

He lowered his head and kissed her.

Vivian's eyelashes fluttered in shock.

Her red lips parted slightly in surprise.

The congee from his mouth was transferred to hers.

Vivian's pupils constricted violently.

He was feeding her like this?

Revulsion welled up inside her.

She refused to swallow.

Liam deepened the kiss.

Forcing her to gulp down the congee.

Furious, Vivian frowned and pushed him away hard.

She tried to flee.

But Liam wrapped an arm around her slender waist.

He pressed her back down onto the sofa.

He scooped up another spoonful of congee.

He held it to her lips.

A faint, mocking smile played on his lips. "Do you need me to keep feeding you?"

Vivian glared at him, her teeth gritted.

After a long moment, she forced three words through her clenched teeth.

"Don't even think about it."

Liam let out a low chuckle.

His handsome, chiseled face slowly moved closer to hers.
