Chapter 2489
chapter2489
After taking care of Justin and putting him to sleep, lan left the bedroom and anxiously dialed Arnold's number in the living room.
The call barely rang a few times before Arnold picked up. The background was as noisy as always. "Mr. Harris, is something wrong with Mr. Salvador?"
Hearing Arnold's perceptive tone, lan—who was known for never calling without a reason-felt embarrassed. But he still politely asked, "Dr. Larson, Mr. Salvador's medicine is almost finished. Could you give us two more bottles?"
"So fast? I gave you three bottles last time!" Arnold was shocked.
He did not treat lan as an outsider and said bluntly, "Is Mr. Salvador treating my medicine like candy? I'm telling you, this kind of nerve suppressant damages both the nerves and kidneys. Too much of it harms the brain and sexual function. He might not get his little guy up in the future!"
"But there's no other way now! Mr. Salvador really can't function without the medicine. He could relapse anytime. If someone caught that on camera and spread it around, everything would be over!"
Desperate and reckless with words, lan blurted out, "Besides, Mr. Salvador's stamina is amazing. Even if he doesn't last long, he'll still be stronger than most men! The Young Madam is always exhausted after being with him. She might finally get some rest next time."
"Hahaha!" Arnold laughed, completely speechless.
"I don't have much of the medicine left either. The new batch is still under research at the lab in Meridan. This time, it should have less impact on the nervous system. Hopefully, it can help neutralize the remaining toxins in Mr. Salvador's body. I'll bring it over to him next week when it's ready."
lan expressed his gratitude repeatedly. "Thank you, Dr. Larson! Thank you so much!"
Meanwhile, in a noisy nightclub, Arnold ended the call and sat alone at a corner of the bar. He tilted his head back and downed another glass of liquor.
After leaving Asher, he had returned to this chaotic lifestyle. Only now, he no longer dated anyone, nor did he believe in love anymore.
That night, both men and women came to flirt with him. The faint scar on his face did not diminish his looks. Instead, it added a touch of ruggedness to his fox-like and refined features, making him even more alluring and mysterious.
Just as Arnold was about to leave, a man dressed in black suddenly sat down beside him. "Dr. Larson, what a coincidence."
Hearing a somewhat familiar voice, Arnold snapped his head around. His heart jolted violently as he recognized the man. "It's you?!"
It was Elio, the man who had once told him about Asher's deepest secret. He was the elder brother of Asher's dead lover.
Seeing that gloomy face, Arnold felt as though his heart was being bound by coils
of barbed wire, tightening and constricting until it could hardly beat.
Just then, his phone that was lying on the table began to ring.
On the screen, the caller ID showed Asher's name.
Arnold's heart tensed. He quietly flipped the phone over, hiding the screen.
But the motion did not escape Elio's eyes. With a faint, mocking smile, he said, "Aren't you going to answer Asher's call?"
"What's it to you?" Arnold's tone was ice-cold.
Though Elio had once told him about Asher and Kairos, that did not mean Arnold ever wanted to see him
again. “I'm not a three-year old, and I don't believe you're here by coincidence. What do you want, Mr. Valen?"
"Dr. Larson, I heard you have your own pharmaceutical research lab in Meridan and that you're doing quit well for yourself. But lately, been @nning into some financial troubles." Elio motioned to the bartender for a glass of whiskey.
Arnold's eyes darkened. "You investigated me? How did you know that? Who told you?"
"My boss is very interested in your
lab. He's also quite impressed by
your talent." Elio lifted his glass and took a leisurely sip. "My boss intends to invest in your lab Conter
Arnold frowned. "Who's your boss?"
ent
Elio swirled his glass, smiling with a trace of pride. "Mr. Grant Salvador from the Salvador Corporation."
