Chapter 128

"Are you going to drive or not?" Vivian Bennett stomped her foot in frustration.

Zachary Hudson's lips curved into a wicked smile. "So eager to hide from your old flame?"

Vivian had no patience for his nonsense.

In the rearview mirror, Brandon White's figure drew closer.

She grabbed the door handle, ready to jump out.

"Where do you think you're going?" Zachary suddenly seized her wrist.

"I have urgent business. If you're not leaving, I'll go first." Her expression was icy.

Zachary narrowed his captivating eyes. "You're my assistant now. You go nowhere without my permission."

"I quit!" She shoved him away forcefully.

She could always find another job. But if the White family caught her, it would be over.

Zachary yanked her back, his gaze turning dangerous. "Dare to play me? You'll regret it."

"Let me go!" Vivian struggled desperately.

Brandon had reached the car.

He bent down, about to knock on the window.

With a single glance from Zachary, the driver immediately hit the gas.

The luxury car sped away.

Brandon was left empty-handed, but he memorized the license plate.

That figure had looked exactly like Vivian.

Such a top-tier luxury car was rare even in all of Seattle.

The owner had to be incredibly wealthy or powerful.

How could a man like that be interested in Vivian?

Had he been seeing things?

"Brandon, what are you looking at?" the woman in his arms asked sweetly.

"Nothing. Let's go eat." He withdrew his gaze, casually patting her rear.

She let out a playful yelp. Suddenly, she asked, "Do you know the young master Hudson?"

Brandon frowned. "Which young master Hudson?"

Her eyes sparkled. "Zachary Hudson, the son of Seattle's richest man."

Brandon's face darkened. "How would I know him?"

He dreamed of being a playboy like Zachary, surrounded by wealth, power, and beautiful women.

But the White family had long fallen from grace. It could no longer support his ambitions.

The women he played with were nowhere near Zachary's league.

Their wealth and status were worlds apart.

Brandon felt both envy and jealousy toward Zachary.

"But wasn't that luxury car Mr. Hudson's?" the woman asked curiously. "I thought you were going to say hello to him."

Brandon halted abruptly. "What did you say? That was Zachary Hudson's car?"

"Yes, I even saw Mr. Hudson standing by the car earlier. He's much handsomer in person than on TV." She looked lovesick.

Brandon immediately shook off her hand.

"If you like Mr. Hudson so much, why don't you go find him?"

He turned and strode toward his own car.

"What's wrong with you?" the woman hurried after him.

She had only complimented Zachary a few times. Was he really going to throw a fit over that?

How petty.

"Get lost. Don't come looking for me again!" Brandon snapped angrily.

But he couldn't help wondering: If that really was Vivian earlier, had she actually hooked up with Zachary Hudson?
