Chapter 208
Vivian Bennett opened her eyes.
The space beside her was empty.
She was still wearing yesterday's clothes.
The room was silent.
Where was Liam Sullivan?
She distinctly remembered him sleeping next to her last night.
Vivian hurried out of bed to wash up.
Her reflection in the mirror looked pale.
She quickly walked downstairs.
The villa was empty.
Sunlight streamed in through the floor-to-ceiling windows.
She approached the main entrance.
The glass door was firmly shut.
It required a code to open.
Vivian pushed against the door with force.
It didn't budge.
She was trapped here.
Just then, footsteps echoed from the staircase.
Liam Sullivan descended slowly.
He was dressed in casual wear.
He looked refreshed.
"Awake?" His voice was deep. "Are you hungry?"
Vivian glared at him.
"I want to go back."
Liam glanced at his watch.
"It's already two in the afternoon. I'll take you back after lunch."
He walked over and took her hand.
Vivian tried to pull away.
But he held on firmly.
The aroma of food drifted from the dining room.
Her stomach betrayed her with a growl.
Liam chuckled softly.
"Let's eat first."
Vivian stopped resisting.
She was indeed hungry.
The dining table was laden with exquisite dishes.
She picked up her fork and knife and began eating.
Her manner was somewhat hurried.
Liam ate with elegance.
His gaze remained fixed on her.
Vivian put down her utensils after finishing.
Her mood improved slightly.
Liam spoke suddenly.
"There's an event at the resort tonight. Want to go?"
Vivian immediately became wary.
"No."
"Perfect," Liam smiled. "I'll take you for a private tour instead."
Vivian shot to her feet.
"I don't want to go with you!"
Liam's eyes darkened.
"What are you afraid of? I won't hurt you."
He moved closer to her.
Vivian took a step back.
"Liam, between us—"
Before she could finish.
He suddenly cupped her chin.
His kiss came down hard.
It held a punishing edge.
Vivian gasped in pain.
The taste of blood filled her mouth.
Liam released her.
His gaze was dangerous.
"Stop saying things you shouldn't."
Vivian covered her stinging lips.
Her eyes reddened.
This man was always so domineering.
