Chapter 240
Vivian Bennett immediately recognized her cousin's husband's car.
The sapphire blue Ford.
She clearly remembered that Jason Harper drove home from work every day.
Sure enough, before long.
Jason's car slowly emerged from the underground garage.
It merged into the evening traffic.
Vivian quickly hailed a taxi.
She urged the driver urgently, "Follow that blue Ford closely."
"Don't worry, I'm great at tailing cars," the driver replied cheerfully, stepping on the gas to catch up.
Vivian shrank in the back seat.
She was terrified of being spotted by Jason.
But her eyes remained fixed on that patch of blue ahead.
Jason wasn't heading toward her cousin's home.
The car drove west.
It gradually left the bustling city center behind.
"Miss, is that your man up ahead?" the driver suddenly asked.
Vivian pressed her lips together and didn't answer.
Her silence made the driver give a knowing look.
The scenery outside the window grew increasingly desolate.
But clusters of villas gradually appeared in the distance.
They looked particularly imposing in the twilight.
"This is a famous wealthy neighborhood," the driver remarked with admiration. "Everyone who lives here is rich or powerful."
Vivian's heart sank heavily.
Jason's car drove straight toward the villa's main gate.
He swiped his access card with practiced ease.
The barrier lifted without the slightest pause.
"Seems like a regular visitor," the driver said meaningfully. "This community only recognizes cards, not people."
Cold sweat dampened Vivian's palms.
She finally understood why her colleagues didn't dare reveal Jason's affair.
The other woman lived in a place like this.
"Miss, what now?" the driver turned and asked. "You can't get in."
Vivian stared at the closed gate.
She truly couldn't enter.
Was she supposed to just wait outside helplessly?
Night deepened.
Lights gradually illuminated the villa district.
Each light seemed to mock her powerlessness.
