Chapter 244
Vivian Bennett breathed a quiet sigh of relief.
She lifted her head and glared at him with displeasure.
"Nothing happened last night at all. Why didn't you say so earlier?"
She was far too trusting of him.
She hadn't even confirmed anything, yet she had assumed they really did...
Zachary Hudson smirked mischievously.
"Where would be the fun in telling you earlier?"
"You!" Vivian's almond-shaped eyes widened with fury.
She nearly lunged at him to bite him.
But since nothing had happened, she could finally relax.
She stood up awkwardly and looked around.
"Zachary, where is this?"
"My home," he answered bluntly.
Vivian was startled and whipped her head to look at him.
"Your... your home? This is your home?"
She scanned the room again.
The luxurious decor featured imported furniture and appliances.
This was clearly no ordinary place.
"Of course it's my home. What did you think it was?"
Her reaction amused him.
"You were completely drunk last night. I wasn't comfortable leaving you at a hotel, so I brought you here."
"Don't worry. Even though you tried very hard to take advantage of me last night, I resisted fiercely. You failed!"
His teasing made Vivian's cheeks burn.
She quickly turned away, pretending to examine her surroundings.
As she expected, Zachary's home was tastefully decorated.
It was full of possessions, yet not cluttered.
One wall displayed several specially treated photographs, exuding a modern artistic feel.
Vivian was drawn to them.
Some pictures showed a younger Zachary, devastatingly handsome with a devilish smile.
She studied each one carefully.
Then she noticed one untreated photo hanging directly on the wall.
It showed two children around ten years old.
The girl beamed radiantly.
The boy stood behind her, also smiling.
The boy was clearly Zachary.
The girl looked familiar, like someone she knew.
Vivian struggled to recall.
Then it hit her.
It was her!
Vivian remembered.
She had seen this girl's photo at Liam Sullivan's home too.
In that picture with Liam and Isabella Sullivan.
Now, here in Zachary's home, was another photo of him with this same girl.
This meant the girl knew both Zachary and Liam.
Who was she?
Why was she connected to both men?
Vivian couldn't figure it out.
Just then, Zachary's voice came from behind her.
"Go freshen up first. I'll get breakfast ready."
Zachary had actually made breakfast!
While washing up, she loosely tied up her hair and checked her reflection.
Traces of the hangover remained on her face.
But after washing, she looked presentable.
Only her eyes held a new worry.
Exiting the bathroom, Vivian found a brand new women's outfit laid out on the bed.
It was probably for her.
She didn't stand on ceremony.
She changed into it before heading downstairs.
Zachary was already in the dining room, setting the table with cutlery.
His eyes lit up when he saw Vivian.
He smiled.
"I just whipped up something simple. Hope it's alright."
Vivian approached the table.
She saw pastries, fried eggs, milk, and even two steamer baskets of translucent little buns.
Each dish looked exquisite and tempting.
She couldn't help but doubt.
Did he really make all this, or was it takeout from a five-star hotel?
She found it hard to believe a young master like him would personally cook breakfast.
Moreover, there wasn't a single servant in this entire villa.
It was very strange.
"Did you really make all this?" Vivian narrowed her eyes, full of suspicion.
"Of course!" Zachary snorted proudly.
Vivian was incredulous.
"I never thought someone as thick-skinned, promiscuous, plagued by bad romances, and unreliable as you could actually have redeeming qualities!"
She sat down opposite him.
She picked up her fork and knife and put a piece of pastry in her mouth.
Zachary raised an eyebrow.
"What? Falling for me now?"
