Chapter 326
Vivian Bennett couldn't help but recall the conversation she overheard in Liam Sullivan's office earlier that day.
Isabella Sullivan had gently reminded him to return to the family estate for dinner. His grandparents had specifically arranged a blind date for him.
So the person he was meeting was this elegant and outstanding socialite.
Vivian's heart sank little by little.
She knew there was no future between them. Yet the thought of him meeting someone else still made her chest ache with a fine, piercing pain.
She tossed and turned in bed, only managing to fall asleep late into the night.
Half-asleep, the mattress suddenly dipped.
Vivian groggily opened her eyes. Before she could see who it was, a tall figure loomed over her.
She was about to scream in fright when the man's cool lips pressed down on hers.
His familiar scent instantly soothed her panic.
But why would he suddenly appear in the middle of the night?
Feeling both embarrassed and annoyed, Vivian pushed against him with all her strength.
Liam remained unmoved, instead deepening the kiss.
His kiss carried the urgency of a storm, almost stealing her breath away.
Vivian winced in pain, but gradually softened under his increasingly gentle movements.
After what felt like an eternity, Liam finally released her. He hovered above her, breathing heavily.
The bedside lamp clicked on.
His gaze darkened as he took in her dazed eyes and swollen lips.
He lowered his head to peck the corner of her mouth a few times before lying back down beside her, satisfied.
"What are you doing here?" Vivian thought of the blind date. Her tone was unintentionally sharp.
Liam lazily rested his head on his arm, a slight smile playing on his lips. "I missed you."
Those three short words made her heart tremble. Her anger from moments ago instantly vanished.
She turned her face away and muttered softly, "Who cares..."
The man suddenly flipped over and moved closer. His deep eyes fixed on her flushed cheeks. "Don't care? Then why is your face red?"
Vivian's eyes widened in embarrassment.
She couldn't help but blurt out, "You think everyone falls in love as easily as you do?"
Liam frowned. "Who are you saying falls in love easily?"
"You! Don't think I don't know you went on a blind date today! Facing such a beautiful socialite, dare you say you weren't tempted?" The more Vivian spoke, the more her words dripped with jealousy. Her eyes began to redden.
Liam chuckled lowly and suddenly pressed down on her. "Whether I was tempted or not, aren't you clear? Who was it that cried yesterday saying I was too rough?"
Vivian, frightened, quickly pushed him. "No! I'm still sore..."
Liam, of course, couldn't bear to touch her again.
He pulled her into his arms and gently kissed the top of her head. "I won't touch you tonight. As for the blind date, Grandpa arranged it. I went to save face for the old man, but that woman was too controlling. Not my type."
Vivian still felt sour. "But you still went... What if in the future..."
"It was just a formality." Liam looked down at her, his gaze gentle. "Who I like, don't you know?"
Vivian's face instantly flushed crimson.
Did his words mean... he liked her?
