Chapter 335
Vivian Bennett turned back and gazed quietly at his sleeping face.
An indescribable emotion welled up in her heart.
She leaned down close to his ear.
Her voice was as light as a feather. "Thank you..."
Her fingertips gently brushed over his handsome brows.
Before she could withdraw her hand, it was suddenly caught by a warm, large hand.
Vivian was slightly startled.
"You're awake?" Her voice carried a trace of panic.
Liam Sullivan opened his deep eyes, a hint of weariness still lingering in them.
"Yeah..." he responded in a low, husky voice.
"Did I wake you?" Vivian felt full of guilt. "Sleep a little longer."
Liam propped himself up and nodded toward Grace Harper on the hospital bed.
He glanced at his wristwatch.
Vivian suddenly remembered and lightly patted her forehead. "Oh no! Don't you have an international meeting today? Starting at nine?"
She looked anxiously at the clock. "There's only an hour and a half left. Will you make it?"
Grace looked apologetic upon hearing this. "It's all my fault for delaying you both. How can you work after staying up all night..."
"Don't say that, Cousin Grace." Liam gave a faint smile, smoothing his slightly disheveled hair. "The doctor just examined you. You're fine now."
He stood up and adjusted his clothing, every movement exuding elegance.
"Stay with your cousin today and rest. No need to come to the company." He turned to Vivian. "I'll handle your leave."
Liam checked his watch again and smiled apologetically at Grace. "Sorry, I have to go now. Contact me anytime if you need anything."
"Go ahead with your work. I'll be fine here." Grace hurriedly urged him.
"I'll walk you down." Vivian threw off the blanket, quickly tidied herself, and followed him.
They walked side by side down the corridor in the faint morning light.
"Thank you so much for yesterday." A gentle breeze brushed through, tousling the strands of hair on her forehead.
Liam narrowed his eyes. "You've said thank you too many times since last night."
Vivian nodded solemnly. "Because I'm truly grateful."
He had been by her side when she needed support the most.
Liam raised an eyebrow. "So you're just going to dismiss me with verbal thanks?"
"What else?" She smiled lightly.
"It's on credit." He smiled meaningfully. "I remember you still owe me compensation."
"You still remember something from so long ago?" Vivian gave him a reproachful look.
"How about we cancel each other out?" she suggested playfully.
"Wishful thinking." Liam flatly refused. "Just see me off here."
They stopped at the hospital's main entrance.
"Do you need a change of clothes?" he suddenly asked.
Vivian was taken aback.
Liam checked the time. "I'll have someone bring clothes over later."
"Thank you..." Warmth spread through her heart.
"The caregiver will be here soon. Get some more rest." He reminded her thoughtfully.
"But you didn't sleep all night. Are you really okay?" Vivian asked with concern.
"I'll find time to rest." He turned and walked into the morning light.
