Chapter 355

Ryan Johnson glanced sideways at the closed elevator doors.

He wiped the cold sweat from his forehead.

What kind of game was his boss playing today?

He turned to Chloe Winston with an apologetic smile.

His expression was strained.

Chloe's lips were pale with anger.

She shot him a furious glare.

Then she turned and stormed off.

Ryan took a step to follow her.

But seeing her murderous expression, he wisely stopped.

Vivian Bennett had dinner alone.

Ryan appeared punctually at the restaurant entrance.

He said Liam Sullivan had ordered him to pick her up.

She got into the car.

Her phone vibrated in her pocket.

She pulled it out.

A text from Liam.

"Where?" Two brief words.

Vivian set her phone to silent.

She typed quickly, "Just finished eating. Heading back."

Soon, another message popped up. "What did you eat?"

Her eyes sparkled mischievously. "Guess?"

Liam replied bluntly, "No."

"..."

Vivian held her phone, stifling a laugh.

Though separated by screens, she could picture his serious expression.

Afraid Ryan might notice, she quickly composed herself.

Her fingers flew across the screen. "No romance. Aren't you negotiating? So free to text. Won't the client mind?"

Liam didn't skip a beat. "Better than upsetting you."

Vivian felt wronged. "I'm not some tiger wife."

"Quite the opposite," he paused, then added, "Much harder to please. If I upset you, you might punish me tonight. Worried I won't have the energy to keep up."

His bold words hooked her mind.

Images of their intimate nights surfaced instantly.

Her cheeks flushed warm.

Unmentionable scenes filled her thoughts.

Before she could reply, another message arrived. "Naughty girl. Blushing? What are you thinking?"

Her heart jumped.

She nervously glanced around.

Only Ryan was in the car driving.

Liam was nowhere in sight.

How did he know she was blushing?

Did he have x-ray vision?

As if reading her mind, he texted again. "You blush easily."

A two-second pause.

Then another message. "Especially when we're alone at night."
