Chapter 52

Vivian Bennett took the elevator directly to the top floor.

She stood outside the CEO's office, her heartbeat gradually calming.

She had rushed up here earlier to escape the scolding from Deputy Manager Hannah Green.

Now that her emotions had stabilized, rationality took over again.

Manager Thomas Carter actually asked her to deliver documents for the big boss Liam Sullivan to sign?

This meant she had to enter the CEO's office and face him.

She took several deep breaths in a row.

Her raised hand hovered mid-air, then slowly dropped.

She repeated this several times, still lacking the courage to knock.

That night she had willfully shut him out, though it was retaliation for his forced kiss in the limousine.

But what if Liam Sullivan held a grudge?

Would he use this signing opportunity to make things difficult for her?

A trace of worry flashed across Vivian's face.

But she couldn't just turn and leave.

She was still an employee of Sullivan Group. She couldn't abandon this job casually.

After an intense internal struggle, she finally raised her hand and knocked.

"Come in!"

A deep, magnetic male voice came from inside the office.

Vivian pushed the door open and entered.

Liam Sullivan was sitting behind a large desk by the floor-to-ceiling window, reviewing documents.

From her angle, the files almost completely obscured his face, making his expression unreadable.

But the cold, imposing aura radiating from him remained overwhelmingly powerful.

Five minutes passed.

Liam seemed to have forgotten her existence, still focused on the documents.

Vivian didn't speak either, silently observing the spacious and luxurious office.

It was even more magnificent than she had imagined, exquisitely decorated.

"Something the matter?"

A cold gaze suddenly fell upon her.

Vivian snapped back to attention.

Following the gaze—

Liam behind the desk had already put down the documents and was scrutinizing her.

Vivian's heart tightened.

Being stared at by his deep, sharp eyes felt like being targeted by a hawk.

The powerful pressure he emitted enveloped her completely.

Vivian clenched the documents and stepped forward.

"Mr. Sullivan, these documents require your signature."

She said in a businesslike tone, though inwardly she was extremely anxious.

She just hoped he would sign quickly so she could escape this suffocating space.

But Liam acted as if he hadn't heard.

His profound gaze still lingered on her features, her clothes, her hair, even her accessories, missing no detail.

Vivian felt extremely uncomfortable.

She swallowed and raised her voice. "Mr. Sullivan, these documents urgently need your signature."

She pushed the documents a little closer.

Liam's gaze finally fell on the documents.

He picked up a pen to sign, then suddenly looked up. "Have you eaten?"

Vivian was stunned.

What did signing have to do with whether she had eaten?

Liam didn't wait for her answer. He directly picked up the landline and dialed an internal number.

He continued to gaze at her with an inscrutable look that was hard to decipher.

Vivian guessed he might be hungry, ordering a meal for his secretary before signing.
