Chapter 171

Vivian Bennett stayed in Liam Sullivan's office until noon.

After lunch, she found an excuse to return to the Public Relations Department.

Her heart raced the entire way.

She was fully prepared to face a harsh scolding from Hannah Green.

Pushing open the door to the PR department, she was surprised to find Hannah absent.

Several colleagues were gathered together, chatting.

"Hannah was so arrogant before. Who knew she'd end up like this?" Female Colleague A's voice was sharp, dripping with undisguised schadenfreude.

"Wasn't she just relying on the Vice President's support? Even the VP couldn't save her this time. Serves her right!" Female Colleague B's tone was sarcastic.

"Who did she offend anyway? I thought she was the VP's person?"

Everyone chattered away, their curiosity thoroughly piqued.

"Who knows? Karma's a bitch!"

Laughter echoed through the office.

Vivian stood frozen in place.

From the sound of it, had Hannah been fired?

She suddenly remembered being assigned by Hannah to entertain Mr. Richardson.

Could it be because of that?

"Vivian!"

Emily Davis's voice came from behind her.

Vivian turned and saw the concern in Emily's eyes.

"Are you sick?" Emily looked her over.

Vivian was momentarily confused. "Sick?"

"Didn't you take a half-day sick leave?" Emily asked, puzzled.

Vivian then remembered the morning's events.

"Yeah, I wasn't feeling well. I'm better now." She forced a smile.

Emily studied her face carefully.

Confirming she was indeed okay, Emily breathed a sigh of relief.

"Did you hear? Hannah Green was fired." Emily lowered her voice.

Vivian had been wanting to ask about this.

"Why was she fired?"

Emily shrugged. "The notice came directly from the President's office. Even the Vice President couldn't protect her."

Vivian was stunned. "The President's office?"

So it was Liam himself who ordered the dismissal.

"Yeah." Emily raised an eyebrow. "But this is good for you. No one will trouble you anymore."

Vivian fell silent.

Did Liam fire Hannah for her sake?

In the Vice President's office, Hannah Green was sobbing to Isabella Sullivan.

"VP, on what grounds did the President fire me? I've worked so hard for the company all these years. Even if I haven't done great work, I've done my share..."

Isabella was agitated.

She had just learned Liam spent the entire morning alone with Vivian in his office.

Seeing Hannah in this state now only increased her irritation.

"Stop crying!" Isabella snapped sharply.

Hannah was startled into silence, though tears continued to stream down her face.

"VP, please plead my case to the President. It's all a misunderstanding. I'll work hard from now on..." Hannah hurriedly promised.

Isabella gave her a cold glance.

Hannah was her person. She had originally intended to keep her to deal with Vivian.

She never expected her brother to be so decisive this time.
