Chapter 264

Vivian Bennett slowly opened her eyes.

Her head throbbed with intense pain.

She found herself lying in her own familiar bedroom.

Sunlight streamed through the gaps in the curtains.

She lazily hugged the blanket and rolled over.

Suddenly, she sat up straight.

Fragmented memories from last night flooded back.

She had visited her cousin Grace at the golf course where she worked.

Later, she drank with clients in a private dining room.

She drank heavily.

But what happened after that?

She couldn't remember at all.

She looked down at the pink nightgown she was wearing.

Wait.

There was nothing underneath.

She froze instantly.

Since Liam Sullivan moved next door, she always slept wearing a bra.

Even if it was loosely fastened.

But now...

She never slept naked!

A vague discomfort throughout her body made her panic.

Did she drunkenly change into her nightgown and pass out last night?

Alcohol causes trouble.

She felt like crying.

Who knew what actually happened last night.

Vivian hurriedly jumped out of bed and rushed into the bathroom.

Hot water washed over her body, but it couldn't wash away her unease.

She walked out wrapped in a towel.

She unexpectedly bumped into a solid chest.

"Ah!"

She screamed, nearly losing her balance.

Liam Sullivan reached out and held her waist.

His deep, magnetic voice sounded in her ear. "Haven't had enough fun last night? Throwing yourself at me the moment you wake up?"

Vivian's mind went blank.

She looked up in terror, meeting the man's intense gaze.

"Wh-what did you say?"

Liam's lips curved slightly. "What? Forgotten everything after one night's sleep? What did you do to me last night?"

Vivian instantly remembered the empty nightgown.

The man's words struck her like thunder.

She frantically broke free from his embrace.

Her cheeks burned fiercely.

Her lips trembled, but no sound came out.

"Remember now?" Liam asked softly, his thin lips almost touching hers.

Vivian thought he was going to kiss her.

But he just stayed there.

Their warm breaths mingled.

Burning her nerves like flames.

She instinctively tried to step back.

But Liam tightened his arm, holding her firmly in place.

"Really don't remember? I can help you relive it."

His long fingers caressed the back of her neck.

Vivian's heart pounded like a drum.

She had no memory of what happened last night.

But the emptiness under her nightgown said it all.

She closed her eyes tightly, her long eyelashes fluttering. "No need... I remember now."

Liam watched her nervous expression. "Sure? Don't need my help?"

Vivian nodded frantically. "Yes!"
